Been wanting to buy some old scary movies that I saw as a kid but I can't remember very many names of movies.
I really liked all the movies about the zombies. List the movies you liked as a kid and even today. Thanks |
Well I didn't see it as a kid (thankfully), but "The Exorcist" really freaked me out.
And the new version with the deleted footage is even worse. [shock] |
The Exorcist is one of the very few that really scared me because to me it was believable.Zombie,Vampire,Chud,Werewolve etc,I love to watch but they don't scare me because I don't believe in zombie, vampire etc.Now demonic possession...I can believe that.I love Dawn of the Dead,Night Breed is good,Army of Darkness and the 1st 2 Return of the Living Dead are good tongue in cheek horror movies.

"The Thing" original with Arness as the thing.
"Them" "The Blob" original Classics "Frankenstein" with Boris Karloff "The Mummy" orginal with Boris Karloff Ultimate Zombie Pic "Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things" Newer Classics "The Shining" "The Exorcist" New "Thirteen Ghoasts" "Sleepy Hollow" |
When I was a kid, the nightmare on elm street movies scared teh hell out of me
My new favorite is Rob Zombie's "House of a 1000 Corpses" |
Twisted Brain!!!
Number two would be a tie among Dawn of the Dead, They Live, and Seconds. |
Well, this really isn't science fiction, is not my fav, but it definitely is horror-centered:
The Clinton Years |
Amityville Horror
Creep Show The Exorcist Texas Chainsaw Massacre Hellraiser I was never big into zombie movies, but The Serpent and the Rainbow was pretty good. The scene where this guy drives a stake through another guys balls still gives me the heebie-jeebies. |
I remember I loved Jaws, Night of the Living Dead, Return of the Living Dead...Poltergeist..any of them.. umm..tremors sucked.. Psycho, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Thirteen ghosts is good, Amityville horror, umm..Darkness Falls made me jump a few times..there's a new one for ya. I'll come back later if I can think of any more. [:D] Oooh, and the Hellraisers!

Night of the Living Dead
Night of the Living Dead '90 Dawn of the Dead Zombie Don't Torture a Duckling John Carpenter's The Thing Burial Ground The House on Haunted Hill Deep Red City of the Living Dead Let Sleeping Corpse Lie |
The exorcist
Amittyville Horror The Changeling Phantasim Tales from the Darkside |
"From beyond" is pretty good.
Bondage, horny monsters, nudity. Based on an HP Lovecraft book. |
"John Carpenter's The Thing" is probably the best of the genre.
It's not really horror, but it's wierd, also by John Carpenter, and very well done: "They Live" "I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum." |
Cemetary Man, with Anna Falchi, an Italian/Finnish super hottie! Guns, Zombies and graveyard sex, what's not to like [;D]
{Edited womenz pic - sorry} Eric go to http://www.atpictures.com/annaf/ for more clothed (sorry guys, gotta keep it pc) pics of her. |
humm i would have to say:
The exorcist Rose Red the original The Haunting |
I think Psycho is still a great horror movie, although way before my time, it still gave me chills.
I also enjoyed: The Fog Blair Witch Project Pumpkin Head The Hitcher TT |
Re-Animator
BTW, I rented a pretty good horror movie yesterday called "Below". Very well made for a straight-to-video B movie. It's about an American sub that begins to experience very weird paranormal activities after picking up three survivors from a torpedoed British hospital ship. |
"The Hills Have Eyes"....EEMMM! Baby fat tender, juicy!
"Jeppers Creepers" was original and kind of creepy. |
"Bowling For Coumbine"
Scariest work of fiction I've yet to have seen. |
"Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte" scared the crap outta me when I was a kid, also "Journey to the Center Of the Earth"(the skeleton at the end), "Psycho", "The Screaming Skull", "The Haunting", "The Thing".
Aaah, "Nightmare Theater" on Friday nights and B horror/science fiction movies Sunday afternoons. |
I liked the 1970's-era movie "Garoyles"...well, upto the part when they started talking in English, that was kinda hokey.
The other, a movie called "Don't be afraid of the dark". It had Uncle Charley from My Three Sons. It was about some little demon creatures that lived in an old fireplace chimney. |
Poltergeist
Nightmare on elm st. Exorcist Hellraiser The entire evil dead series( army of darkness isn't scary, but it still rocks) The ring Dog soldiers The others was kinda freaky (and nichole kidman is hot) |
My favorites for the freak-out factor:
The Shining Poltergeist Halloween Pet Sematary (very underrated - still gives me the creeps) Children of the Corn I like many of the others listed, but for some reason the above ones just "bother" me - which I guess means they are doing there job. |
Favorite would have to be "The Last Man on Earth", good filming of "I am Legend" starring Vincent Price. Way better than "The Omega Man" starring President Heston.
Really love Romeros Living Dead movies too. |
The exorcist is pretty friggin creepy.
I havn't seen it in a while so I don't know if it would be cheesy now or not. I saw it when I was 12-13 and it scared the shit outta me. The original Hellraiser was pretty creepy too. What about the original Freddy Kruger movie? Can't remember what they're called. Chritstine is a good one. I consider Alien to be a horror flick aswell. |

How the hell (so to speak) did I forget Children of the Corn!? I need to go edit my original post now.
I still have not seen the Omen! I've been told I would like it. Now that I am back in the ol' US of A, I need to rent it. |

I'm a bit of a horror movie aficionado.
Someone mentioned the Re-Animator. That was indeed an incredible movie. For good zombie flicks, check out Zombie and Zombie 3 directed by Lucio Fulci. And probably my favorite horror movie, the only movie that actually gives me the willies is The Beyond also by Fulci. Definately check that one out! Check out the following web sites: http://www.houseofhorrors.com/http://www.horrordvds.com/ http://www.creepyclips.com/ At that last site, creepyclips.com you can download trailers and various scenes from lots of horror movies. Enjoy! -Nick Viejo. |

Ahh..Rowdy Roddy Piper anyone?
"They live" is a cool flick. Its one of those gems I dicovered flippen threw the channels at one in the morning one night.Cool movie. Is "The Thing" that movie with Kurt Russel in the snow? Another good flick. |
My two favorite horror movies, "Re-Animator" and "From Beyond" have already been mentioned so I'll go with 'The Banana Killer'.
I Spit On Your Grave
The Last House On The Left The MacFederale Story |
hmmm Toxic Avenger count?
Liked that movie with the soldiers on that island and they fight the zombies. And that other one where the girl dies and they put the computer brain in her? (deadly friend) i think. Recently DOG SOLDIERS is top of my list. |
It wasn't real scary but.............
how many of you, if any, remember the movie called "The Frog"? It was in 3D, you got glasses when you went in and it was in movie theaters in 1957. |
As a kid, I watched all the classics on Creature Feature---usually from underneath a chair.
Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wolfman, The Mummy...all the old horror flicks. Also old monster movies like It, Terror From Beyond Space (the inspiration for Alien), The Creature From the Black Lagoon and my childhood favorite: Tarantula. My modern horror favorites are: Exorcist III, The Thing (John Carpenter version), Prince of Darkness and Shadow of the Vampire. |
Quoted: The MacFederale Story View Quote I remember that one. That's the one where millions of undead roam the earth in search of brains to eat. Being overly-endowed in that respect, Mac hides out in a [s]shopping mall[/s] Libertarian Convention Hall knowing zombies would never think of looking for anyone with brains there. |
