I haven't been to Frontsight, but what the heck, this post is drifting toward the backpages, so I'll chirp up
I don't think they are crap and if they are local to you actually going there is better than planning to go somewhere else and never going.
here are a few of my reservations:
1-There has been a turnover in staff for various reasons. I have heard like some of instructors have no experience beyond taking classes. I don't think an instructor needs to have been in gunfights and killed people to be worth listening to, but I generally have more respect for men that have been paid as police officers or in the military v. people that have never carried a gun in a professional capacity.
2-I have heard the teaching style is rigid. If you go to a pistol class by god you'll shoot weaver stance by the time you get done v. a lot of classes that will (at least sometimes) teach isosceles or modified isoceles.
3-This is less of a big deal as the other points, but some people report having been roped into a high pressure sales pitch to join up. Since people who have alleged involvement of the Church of Scientology in Frontsight have been sued by Frontsight, I won't get into that; though I have never heard a report of anyone who went there hearing scientology discussed.
If realistically Frontsight is the place you can go because of location or cost- I would go. If you have the time and the money and want the best training I would go to

These guys are worth looking into also

There are many other training acadmies that I am not at all familiar with, though.
Most of the instructors have books or videos out so you can watch those to maybe get a feel for the teaching methods
