He eats about 2 cups of food a day. If he does not get that...he cries like a friggin baby.

He looks to be a bit on the porky side.  But, that could be good in a SHTF situation.  You're better off checking with Sgtar15.  He's the resident expert on kitty cuisine.

That fur does look like it would make a nice hat though.

Dave,

All is well, the food is no sweat.  Just cut down on his beer ration.  It's VERY clear that he's getting too many carbs.  You may want to consider enrolling him in interpretive dance classes as a strategy to ward off excess calories.

Is my cat too FAT?

No, it just appears that way cuz his head's too small.

I know Sgtar15 will have an idea or two for weight loss [;)]. Big Pussy jokes got me thinking about Predator. "He: Man, your pussy is as big as a house, your pussy is as big as a house. She: Why did you say it twice? [lol]

The fatter the cat, the more meals it'll make for you.  And the less likely it is to be murdering birds, too.

If you want a mouser, keep them lean.  If you want a house cat,  make 'em fat and lazy.

Looks okay to me.  If you want it to lose weight this is what you do.

1.  Get a hammer

2.  Hit cat over the head with said hammer.

#,  Let it bleed.

Not only will the cat lose weight but it will also stop that annoying whining they make when hungry.

Good luck.

My Uncle in law had a 18# cat.  Thing was a nasty SOB.  Glad it left when his roommate did.

I gotta go with Sgtar on this one.
But an even more fun method is to tie it by it's tail upside down before using said hammer on said pussy.
Can be a bit messy though.

No worries.  My friend has a cat that weighs 31 lbs.  It looks like a keg supported by twigs.  When it lays down, it's fat spreads out and it looks like a mattress with a head.  It is about 14 years old now, still the happiest, friendliest cat on earth.

My experience has been the opposite. I have two cats. One is fat (bigger than the picture above same coloring though), and one is thin. The fat cat can MOVE and I mean move fast when it comes to catching a mouse or a bird. The lean cat thinks such violent acts are beneth him and will walk away in disgust.

I leave dry food down all the time for my two cats. Split 1 of those small cans, (tuna fish size), between them. My Black cat is the bigger of the 2, and prolly about the same size as yours, 17-20 lbs...
