I'm thinking about getting a P99, but i'd like to see the size difference between the USP and P99, or even a beretta and P99. I keep hearing that the P99 is somewhat campact, but it sure doesn't look like it.

What do ya'll think?

I can give you a pic of the P99 with a tape measure under the pistol but I dont have a USP.

Compared to a USP45, the W99 is compact.

Fortunately, H&K makes a USP45c

C = Compact.

It's not as small as some guns, not as large as others.

The USP45F is a big gun.  I have bigger hands than most and the grip is a palm filler.

The USP is a hand cannon.  My son owns one.  Great pistol but a bit large for my hand.  My P-99 fits perfectly.  Both great choices.

I have Huge hands and an HKUSP .45 or G21 are the only pistols (short of a DE [;D]) that will fit me.

I have a P99 in 9mm and a USP Compact 45.

They are about the same size and they both have a great grip.  It just depends on what you want.  8 rounds of 45 or 16 rounds of 9mm.  The only thing the HK has over the P99 is the hammer.  The P99 is a striker fired pistol with no safety lever, where the USP has a regular hammer and a great safety/decocker lever.

I love them both!

Yeah, I have a USP45 and a Beretta 92FS, and those are pretty big guns to conceal. I'm a skinny little runt of a guy and I'm affraid that I won't be able to conceal the USP very well, Not sure about the beretta either. I'm waiting for the HK P2000 and Sub-compact, but I bet those are over $800 bucks a pop which is too expensive right now.

I guess I'm just trying to talk myself into gettign a Walther!

Thanks guys.

Oh and I still wounld't mind seeing a sibe by side comparison.

The P99, is the perfect size for me, slightly smaller than a Glock 17 and slightly bigger than a G19.

Maybe "compact" means something different in German.  I have a USP Tactical and a 45compact, they are both really accurate, realiable and fun to shoot but not what I'd call concealable handguns.

USP's are really wide. I think they are 1.26" wide, and the P99 is 1.2" so thats pretty much the same.

I don't have a USP .45 handy but they are big.

The Beretta is longer and heavier than a P99.

Oslow, what kinda laser (or is it white light) is that one the Walther? It looks bulky but kinda cool in a Robocop sorta way[:D]

Laser Devices BA-5 Laser for the P99. It is made for the P99; says WALTHER on the side. It is not heavy (96 grams with battery) and does not change the balance much (especially if you use a 16 rd mag).[:D]

The P99 is probably still not as heavy as a loaded 92FS.

You can mount a light under the laser if desired.

Well, to be perfectly honest the 96 is my GF's (but she got it on my recommendation).

Once nice thing about living together is that not only do we share our lives with each other, but the contents of the gun safe as well.  [:D]
