At least a "hammered poll" won't show up as "news" in some report. I have a theory that polls that come out in favor of gun-control tend to show up in news stories as a hard poll, which DOES do some damage regardless of how BS it is.
I think that by hammering every poll we find, it reduces the chances that such polls will be used against us. It will also leave the distinct impression (over a period of years) that gun-control is a losing issue, whether true or not.
Sure, we'll never hear about a hammered poll on the nightly news, and sure it is never scientific, but there are other intangible results:
1) Less false polling data to show support for gun control.
2) Remind folks that pro-gunners are still out there, and are paying attention.
3) Help people realize that polls are often skewed.
4) Leaves the impression that the internet is 'conservative'. The liberals have TV, newsprint, and magazines, conservatives dominate radio and the internet.
These polls will never be accurate, so I'd just take the intangible benefits.
