As has been said many times on another thread, this legislation is DOA.  It will NEVER make it out of committee.  The Dems know this but they intend to try anyway and then use it to bash Bush in November '04.

No matter...there will be NO controversial gun bills brought before him for his signature in 04...no matter what the libs try.  It just ain't gonna happen.

That does NOT mean stop communicating with your congresscritters and senators.  On the contrary, don't for one second give an inch to the gun banners...but don't sweat this crazy bill...it's dead.

Predictably, they'll ask for a mile but settle for a "quarter mile". Push for the aggressive, pie-in-the-sky, liberal wet dream ban now, while there's still plenty of time. Then at the last minute (next year sometime) COMPROMISE and "accept" renewal of the existing ban. Watch the spin as it unfolds. Don't let your guard down guys!
