[ARCHIVED THREAD] - What's up with the site tonigh?!

Some threads load super fast and others refuse to load at all. Anyone else having problems?

EE Board is half down, I can only get a few threads to load.

I wasn't able to load threads, but could change pages (slowly) a couple of hours ago. Haven't noticed anything recently.

Was having some issues earlier .. active topics would fail to load/refresh, but general forums and what not seemed fine.

Things look "ok" here now, at least on my end.

I can't load "ar15.com" but I can load "jobrelatedstuff.com."

Edited to add Now I can do ar15.com...but

[Still] can't see IM mail.

I can't access icons or animations and I can't add a poll to my thread. One of the servers must be down.

Still having some problems this morning. Can't get active topics to work. Other pages loading very slowly, some not at all.

213 users and 1432 guests, that is whats wrong with the site, it worked much better when you had to log in.

Funny at 4:30 am everything was working just fine, but now sites a mess..........

I just noticed something. There are at least three running topics about the Texas democracts' walk-out, and none of them has been locked as a dupe thread. I think maybe the moderator's lock function isn't working either!

We need to start a server group purchase to help Goat Boy out. Buy a $10 raffle ticket. Winner gets all the old servers and a Lorcin .25 auto. All proceeds to be used to purchase seed for planting a new server farm. [rolleyes]

I think the system is broken again.

Are we having server probs? I can't post a brand new topic. I am getting a "505 SERVER ERROR."

My guess is that certain functions of the board are distributed among the various servers, and that the server controlling function such as adding a poll, creating a new topic, conducting a search, etc has crashed and needs to be rebooted. Inconvenient, but no big deal.

True, true. I've been in the computer business for 20 years, and as the old saying goes, "when everything else fails, 'turn it off and turn it back on' never fails. BUT I wonder if anybody knows to do it? i.e. reboot?
