Just finishing this book up.
Does a great job covering details of the early days when Van Halen got a reputation as a crazy backyard party band for many rich Southern California backyard parties, and interesting side stories on David Lee Roths first band and their run ins with Van Halen, as well as how much work Dave had to put in to become Van Halens lead singer, then helped them get signed for their first album.
Lots of great pictures of Van Halen and David Lee Roth performing in the early 70's, along with pictures of local concert promo posters they stapled up around Southern California, and pictures of postcards they sent back home after they were first getting famous and got their first album recorded.
Really worth it if you're a Van Halen fan, and well reviewed on Amazon.
