That seems like something really fucking dumb. I remember being in Baghdad and some stupid soldier got drunk and tried petting a Tiger through the bars at the Zoo. The Tiger ripped his arm off.

Yeah, I only trust my house cat to do that after she's eaten her food. That tiger was just licking the salt off of his hand and having fun, but that's a stupid thing to do with a cat that big.

People in tiger country in India (Sundarbans, etc.) often wear human masks on the backs of their heads to make the cats think the people see them. I gather it works, sometimes at least.
