The Alabama state flag, along with other banners from across the country, has been removed from the U.S. Capitol due to concerns that some include Confederate imagery.

The banners, which hang in the tunnel to the Capitol, will be replaced with images of the state quarters.

Story is misleading. They took down all the state flags. AL was not targeted. Excuse was some had confederate stuff i.e. MS flag. Don't think Alabamas is offensive to anyone but on the other hand I don't care if it is

Can we talk about what an eyesore the African American Heritage Museum is and how it throws the whole Mall out of balance by flanking the Washington Monument.

Don't get me started on the 'Peace Institute' or whatever the fuck it is they plunked down at the end of Constitution Ave. in place of some historic navy offices

According to this article, only 5 flags were removed: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Mississippi.
