Why is the £ tanking so badly compared to the $ ?
You people are costing me money, damn it. One of my client contracts pays me in £ ; when I started consulting for these people (to the tune of around £4000/month in billing) the exchange rate was at $1.69 or so. Now it's down to $1.42.

Lucky you. I'm on the other end traveling over there every 6 weeks. Painful exchange rate.
