Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Wednesday will announce a decision to keep Alexander Hamilton on the front of the $10 bill and put leaders of the movement to give women the right to vote on the back of the bill, sources tell POLITICO.
Treasury will also announce that it plans to replace former President Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill with Harriet Tubman, the sources said. There will also be changes to the $5 bill to depict civil rights era leaders.
Story Continued Below

Lew's decision comes after he announced last summer that he was considering replacing Hamilton on the $10 bill with a woman. The announcement drew swift rebukes from fans of Hamilton, who helped create the Treasury Department and the modern American financial system. Critics immediately suggested Lew take Jackson off the $20 bill given the former president's role in moving native Americans off their land. Jackson may remain on the $20 bill in some capacity.
Lew told POLITICO last July that Treasury was exploring ways to respond to critics. “There are a number of options of how we can resolve this,” Lew said. “We’re not taking Alexander Hamilton off our currency.”

I don't have much objection to getting rid of Jackson considering he is the founder of the modern Democratic party but why replace him with Tubman?

We have plenty of other great presidents who could replace him on the $20. Or if the push is merely to have a woman on our currency, then why not a woman influential in the founding of our nation such as Mercy Otis Warren?

Meh, who cares if it makes the wimminz happy and they shut up and wander off to do something else.

Andy Jackson was a Constitution ignoring arrogant tool.

Won't bother me any.

I'm OK with it. Tubman isn't my first choice, but it being a woman doesn't bother me.

I don't think she's the best choice, though. My vote was for Grace Hopper, but even someone like Eleanor Roosevelt would have been a better choice.

Look at this administration over the last eight years. Look at our society over the last eight years. Therein lies the answer.

If you grant that not all currency requires a President, and I am fine with this, then Harriet Tubman is an exceptional choice. The lady was the very definition of a Tier One Operator. She was, simply put, a straight up bad ass her entire life.

My question: which bill or coin do we want to put Obama on? Like him or not, he is our first black President.

Nothing but pandering.  The $5, $10, and $20 bills are now all completely redesigned for political correctness, all we have left are $1s, $50s, and $100s fully half our currency, the most common half, for the most part, has been destroyed by politically correct pandering.  The $10 bill is now pandering to feminazis, and the $5 and $20 are BOTH pandering to the blacks.  Currency should be reserved for former presidents and founding fathers ONLY.  Just another move to make us more European.  Next up, red and blue bills.

One can only hope that Caucasian hands will have no part in the new drawings of Harriet Tubman.

A White touching the sacred visage of this heroic black figure would be an insult to race relations throughout this nation.

Lol. I can't wait for some idiot on tv to talk about Harriet Tubman helping southern slaves. The facts of her life are rather inconvenient to the narrative.

Depends on who you ask... I mean, it did pretty much award him a spot in the WH...
