Havent had a trash service at our place, we burn most papers, recycle some when the recycle truck comes to our township hall once a month, and the rest I usually toss in a dumpster at a family members business in town. Kinda a pain in the ass but it woks. I called a trash service that operates in our area and they charge $120 every three months for pick up. The old service we had charged like $95 every three months. Seems high to me. Am I just being a cheap ass? What do you all pay?

$11 mo out of taxes to county before moving, now its $65 every 3 months and the trash can is $70
$3 bucks every saturday at the local transfer station for a contractor bag.
$23/month for weekly pickup. They used to be really picky about what they'd take and then upgraded to actual "garbage trucks" from 1 tons. Now I can put about anything out there.
Nothing, but no service either. The cost of using the landfill/transfer station is part of the property taxes you pay.
Woo Hoo. 10 bucks a month and the county brought me a Herby Curby!
The service is like $38 a month, but I just pile bags up in one of our garages, and then when I have a truck load, I take it to the dump 10 min away for $6
15/month. I put out three 33 gallon cans each week and one Rubbermaid Brute recycling container every other week. They Bill be quarterly at $45.00
Whatever I want to throw to the curb, fridges, trash, tree limbs, $22.18/mo. At the cabin it's about $108/year (mandatory) but you have to haul it.
$69/ quarter. They take all we can give them as long as it's bagged.
No trash service here; I have a skip that I use as a dumpster and burn barrels. I haul the skip to the dump on a bobtail when it gets full which is about 2x a year.
$80 per quarter, two 96 gallon cans for recycling and garbage. Garbage weekly, recycling bi-weekly.
Trash service is a scam. I can't wait for the day I don't have to pay for that crap. Been paying for 10 years
we get free dumping at the dump on Wednesdays.. I drive to the dump and dump my garbage. its only about 3 miles from town, so its not far out of the way for me, takes about 15 minutes round trip. I also do my shopping during the same trip, so its not a extra trip. I USED to pay around $30.00 a month IIRC to have it picked up.
2 30gal cans a week $0. Landfill in the township, part of the deal is free trash pickup for residents.
We have to pay for recycling though. |
$0.00.
Town comes to get it. It's actually paid out via property taxes but since we rent the homeowner is paying it so we don't know how much it actually costs. |
I work near the landfill but I don't drive a truck
$50 / 3 months for pickup |
Doesn't cost anything. 4 trashcans in the back of a truck and take them to the dump
$120/year for weekly pickup, max of 10 bags per week, bags can weigh a max of 25 pounds each.
$60 quarterly. As long as it's bagged and in a can they'll take it.

What's this trash service you speak of? View Quote No kidding. I have to haul it down to the convenience center. It used to be 50 cents a bag. When you turn 60, they let you dump 6 bags a week for free. Occasionally I take the old guy who runs the place some vegetables out of the garden or some honey. I usually get to drop my stuff off that day for free. |
We pay $65 every 3 months. There are cheaper companies but I'm lazy
I agree. Why?
Because she wills it. I get my way most of the time though. |
We just take it and throw it over the fence into the neighbors yard. They are so nasty they don't notice it.
We pay $60 every three months for one trash can and one recycle can to be picked up once each per week.
I just pay the property taxes and take our trash to one of the various collection sites depending which direction I am heading.
When I lived out in the sticks, it was ~$80 every three months to have a private company come out and handle it. One big-ass can, once a week.
So...$27/mo? Somewhere around there. |
Burn barrel and about $0.50 worth of gas every week.
Light it up! |
