Since we live in different States with different rules (I've lived in 7), just remember you can ONLY vote in a primary if you are registered with a Party in NY.
It is useless to be registered "Independent". Everyone can vote anyway they want in the General Election. |

Trump 518,601. 60.5% John Kasich 214,755. 25. % Ted Cruz 123,894. 14.5% Pretty good breakdown here and you can click county by county for results: http://www.nytimes.com/elections/results/new-york Cruz only beat Kasich in NY, Brooklyn, and Wyoming county as near as I can see. Came very close in a few other countries like Schoharie etc. http://wnyt.com/news/voters-complaints-board-of-elections-primary-clyne/4111322/?cat=10114 By the end of the day on Tuesday, Megan Parsons of Albany was an irate, disenfranchised woman. "I wanted to be heard and I was shut down," she says, "After waiting and waiting and waiting to be heard, I was shut down." After changed parties from Green to Democratic, Parsons figured she'd be able to cast a primary vote for Bernie Sanders. After being denied at her polling place, she headed to the Albany County Board of Elections, but after pleading her case to a judge, she was told that she had missed the deadline. "I came down here and I waited for the judge for an hour and a half to come back from dinner break on Primary night so that I could be heard," she says, "As soon as I walked in there, it didn't matter. This is the most ridiculous, asinine thing I've ever heard in my entire life." Megan wasn't alone. Voters were showing up in large numbers at the Board of Elections all day long. boo hoo... |

According to the current convention rules Kasich can't even be considered on the first ballot so as long as he stays in the race he is the embodiment of the specter of some kind of GOPe shenanigans.
At the very least it looks like the GOPe is keeping Kasich in the race in a delegate hunting strategy to deny Trump the needed 1237 delegates thus favoring Cruz or if there is a rule change before the convention or whoever the GOPe can talk the delegates into supporting....Cruz, Kasich, or someone else. And therein lies Toxic Ted's problem. You don't have to be that politically astute to see the game the GOPe is playing and it stinks. |
