Always been kind of fascinated with the variety of vehicles the various departments use; engines, tankers, squad trucks, etc. Curious to see if any members here feel like showing off your rigs, maybe share some stories of what yall have done with them.

I don't have a picture handy, but we run a pumper, a pumper/tanker, brush truck, ALS medic, and have a reserve snorkel quint.

My particular station runs a pumper, 110' platform ladder, and a F550 rescue truck (used for extrication and water rescue).

Don't have any pictures on this PC. But we are in the process of designing our own Wildland / Tinder off of a M939 chassis
I'll see if I can get some pictures uploaded here in a bit of a few of our rigs. |

My old local department had two converted to pumpers and a third with a small crane. The crane one was still desert tan. Our plan with this one is a multi role rig. So far we have this as our initial plan. 1000 gallons (2) 1" 200 rolls (2) 2 1/2" crosslays And a monitor on the front Standard load out of fittings, hose, drop tank and mobile pumps. It's going to be a lot of fun (and a pain in the ass at times I'm sure) putting this all together. |

Engines, Tankers, Brush & woods trucks & Rescues (ambulance transport type not of the heavy)

My station runs a Ferrara Truck with a 107' ladder. We have hydraulic rescue tools, struts, airbags, saws, ground ladders and forcible entry tools on our rig. We are all paramedics and carry all of our als medical equipment on the truck as well. Our station also houses a brush truck on an F550 chassis.

Small VFD, two stations. Custom engine and a brush truck at one and a commercial 4wd engine, two tankers and a EMS rapid response unit at the other.

We had a short one and a long one.
First I worked in the short one, but I kept getting all wet, so then I worked in the long one, and I stayed dry and got to break things, which was more funner. |

My department has for houses. 4 Sutphen engines, 1 Sutphen TL, (new one comes in shortly) 1 Spartan engine (newest truck, delivered last year), 1 Ferrara TL, and 1 Sutphen Heavy Rescue. 5 engines, 2 trucks, and a rescue. Also have 4 ambulances, a HM unit, materials support unit (HM second piece/portable cascade system), as well as various fly cars and command vehicles. I'll try and snap a pic if I remember to later. I'm in the rescue company. Our third newest rig, it's a 2012. Awesome truck, but to big, in my opinion, for out needs. I was not in when they were specing the new rig, so had no input there. I'd also prefer a walk through as opposed to the walk around we have. As far as what I've done off of it? A bunch of fire work, pin jobs, a plane crash, a few odd rescues, uprights, winch ops, etc. http://i348.photobucket.com/albums/q325/RedSS454/Mobile%20Uploads/20160419_114749.png.jpeg View Quote Hmmm, are you in Southern NY? We have 7 stations total. 3 guys at each station, 1 battalion.
Each station has a front line Sutphen pumper. Depending on which station they have different equipment that is cross staffed. 2 Squads for ems calls, 2 trucks (1 is a spare), 2 tenders, 3 brush rigs, 1 rescue, 3 spare pumpers. The cross staffing is a huge issue we have. ex. If you're at a squad station you have to swap all your gear over to the squad when its an ems call. If its a fire, rescue, hazmat, etc etc, you swap it onto the pumper. Sucks. |

I drive what ever is in the bay when I get to work that day. 23 years as a Chauffeur.
The assigned Engine is a KME, maybe 3 years old, Heat and a/c work great. Seats suck. It pumps well and doesn't leak. Spare engines could be anything. Usually a Sutphen. |

I'm not a firefighter but I am partial to Pierce trucks. I was the supervisor for the fab of their ladders and other components at Kewaunee Fab.

|
Pierce PUC rescue pumper (currently my assignment)
Pierce 75' tandem axle quint Carl Thibault 105' HD platform aerial with pump A few random Ford vans as utility vehicles Pierce pumper from 89 as a reserve truck No ambulances |
|
|
|
125' Ladder (Quint) has a pump and 300g of water
Squad Tender Engine sold our tac in February, a truck that could do most things but none of them well |
|
My house is a 2000 DIngee pumper 1k gallons and 1250 pump and a DIngee Ford superduty (the old one pre-superduty). Thank god at the next equipment cycle were getting rid of DIngee machines. The rest of the department is 2 more pumpers all 1000 gallons, Salisbury rescue, gmc box van that's our utility, and 2004 4 guys tanker 3000 gallons.

Just took delivery of new 2016 Pierce 2000GPM pumper 750 gallon tank.

2 engines, a heavy rescue, a 105' tower, 2 brush units, a tender, and 2 medic units. A lot of overkill. We basically have to wait until the ceiling bitches start talking before we know which truck to jump on.
|
|
We are a combo dept with 3 full time plus a full time chief and about 30 POC personnel.
3 engines 2 tenders 1 tower 1 squad 1 heavy rescue 1 brush truck 1 side by side with a pump on it 2 boats. one john boat and one 22ft? boston whaler 1 chiefs car 1 inspectors car Engines and tower + heavy rescue are all Pierce except for one but we have a new one spec'd out and will be here early next year. We are very lucky to have all the equipment that we have. |
|
We have 5 Stations:
1 - Ambulance, Engine, Battalion Chief, Rescue + trailers (unstaffed) 2 - 75' (soon to be 100') Ladder, Ambulance 3 - Engine, Ambulance 4 (my station) - Engine, Ambulance 5 - 105' Platform, Brush Truck (unstaffed) I'm a driver, so I don't ride the ambulance any more, but we are all Paramedics except for a couple of old guys grandfathered in. All of our apparatus are Pierce. I wish we would try something else, because we have a lot of issues. Of course, line personnel have very little say in the specs! |
