Some people have AR mags listed for insane prices.
Did the panic start? I just laugh at em |

If people are buying them for stupid prices, then yes.
If they're just sitting there, no. |

Pre-panic. View Quote Yup. I figured now is the time, while prices are low and availability is good, to go ahead and build those last couple (lol) ARs I really want and stock up on mags and ammo. So, I've been doing that the last few weeks. I imagine other people are doing the same and it's starting to have a little bit of an impact. ETA: I'm pretty much good for now. I'm at least at a place where if a true panic hits I'm satisfied with my stash. Not going to get caught with my pants down this time. |

Have you seen the prices that blemished stripped upper receivers are going for? So much....

|
I work at Academy part time. We have PMags hanging on peg hooks for $12.99 and up. When those disappear...

I might've picked up 2k of 5.56 and a used 19, but. . . . . . . . .

Nah, those who are panicking now are ahead of the game. We still have low prices on ammo, mags, etc. Now is the time to stock up. If they are panic buying on election night then that's just stupid. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

If they are panic buying on election night then that's just stupid. This, it's not panic right now, it's just hedging for a probable eventuality. If nothing happens and there is no panic, it just means I bought stuff I was going to buy anyway a little earlier. ETA: I think Spitro means "you should have learned the first time and already be stocked up" - fair point, but my money situation 4+ years ago didn't allow for it at the time. |

Skipped to the end of the thread.
Lowers easily available for $40 bucks, decent ammo for $300/1000 delivered = no panic. |
|
No panic here, but then I didn't panic last time.
I don't do panic buying. |

What .. the panic started............... Can someone break into my house and let me out of the cellar .. mom's gone tell 7pm .. or can you please get me a box of 50 rounds .22lr, foil, 2 gallons of hand cream , and case of paper towels ..
Just look for pink flag coming out of a roof sewer vent pipe. that's where I'm locked in.. |

I doubt stripped uppers are offered for retail sale in the same quantities as lowers; I bet there's a shortage on them soon if there isn't already.
There will also be a shortage of handguns, especially the more desirable CCW-sized models. A larger share of the total gun market is interested in them and that population is growing. For instance, noobs who have no interest in owning an EBR are still realizing they need a CCW pistol. 9mm will be scarce again, more so than 5.56. AR mags and stripped lowers won't be the hot items this time, although I can see a run on BCGs. |

Sure seems like there are a lot of people on this site that bought a bunch of stuff that can't wait for the next panic. We really are our own worst enemy. Just check out any of the deals threads and then check out the EE a week later for proof. |

Gun show prices this last weekend were reasonable.
Heavy this time on the assortment of long guns, handguns and ammo. (Usually it's 50/50 hardware/accessories) |

It would be an interesting social experiment to start listing mags on gunbroker for stupid high prices.
I'm not going to do it because I only have enough for use but I wouldn't be surprised if a few dozen enterprising individuals couldn't engineer a small, temporary panic if they wanted to. Obviously I don't think this would be a good thing, but it would be interesting. I know of a few people who don't really do a good job of internet shopping. They will check gunbroker or auction arms. The concept of DSG Arms, Aimsurplus, etc are foreign to them. |

I have noticed certain parts are out of stock or increase in prices.

The increase in buying pressure started back in January. It is only going to get worse from now until November.

I remember how scarce bolt carriers were back in the last panic. I picked up some consumable parts that I probably won't need for years but the prices are great right now, and now I don't have to give it a second thought of worry. I actually regret not selling most of my spare NIW mags last time...... |

Sometimes I wonder if the panic ever really ended. View Quote If firearms NICS checks are any indication, it never did. Production just ramped up to meet demand. Capitalism much? As for me, I was relatively well set for the last one and even still learned and we'll just say I'm set for this one. |

Meh, I picked up a Surefire 60 for $20 today.

As far as I can see the only thing that has changed is the industry caught up with production to meet our demands. Which then lowered prices and we upped our demands. View Quote 8.1guns on average??? Not much use talking about this amongst ourselves now. The people who are going to be driving the next panic aren't yet members here.
Soon after the conventions, when there's a lot of scary talk about Hillary polling higher than Trump, these guys will suddenly realize they must have an AR (or three), umpteen mags, a truck full of spares, and a pallet of 5.56. And they'll pay any amount for it... |
