I've carried a bunch of knives over the years, the last being a Kershaw. I thought it was nice until my dad gave me a Benchmade. I won't clip an inferior blade to my pocket anymore.

Just got me a ZT 0452CF.
4.1" blade in a slim and light package. ETA: Also got a ZT 0909 recently. 3.6" blade and it is built like a tank!. |

Eh... looking at EDC knives... I almost pulled the trigger on a couple recently... but found that they don't have features I want.
I want: assisted or automatic opening. Autos are legal to carry, so why the fuck not? Non-serrated blade side lock (for assisted opening), I fucking HATE liner lock. I fucking love the Benchmade 940 Osborne knife... but you get it in green or pay $100 more for carbon fiber. I'm tempted to get one and have a friend of a friend who does custom handguns ceracoat it in grey or something. |

View Quote I loaned it to my brother once and it opened in his pocket. Sliced him up real good. Happened while he was bar hoping so that may have played a factor. As to my cuts, they were while I was actually using the knife. More specifically, I would holding the knife "upside down" where the button was not on the side my thumb was on. My middle or ring finger ended up hitting the button, causing it to fold in on my hand. |

Going to contact him about my blade, since it doesn't look like any of the ones he normally makes. |

I'm going to go in a different direction than alot of the suggestions so far.
Spyderco Dragonfly. All the knife you'll need in an EDC role and none of the knife you don't need. Assuming your perception of EDC doesn't involve a potential knife fight. |
