Quoted: Team Yankee would also make a good film if done right. Edit: Beat View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising in a 10 part Mini Series like Band of Bothers. Team Yankee would also make a good film if done right. Edit: Beat Yep. I'd add Red Army to the list too. Speaking of Red Army, Ralph Peters' Civil War detective series would make for either an interesting series or series of movies as well. |

Quoted: The long awaited sequel to Mr. Brooks. View Quote I didn't really expect much from Mr. Brooks so completely forgot about it until one night when there was absolutely nothing else worth watching on and it was on HBO, it was a hell of a lot better than I expected and I actually wound up buying it on blu-ray. |

I wonder if animation software will ever advance to the point (in our lifetimes) where someone could do these at home Then there are all the rights associated with such a project....so black market/cult type audience. Another vote for The Charm School, and Without Remorse. I'll throw in The Haj as well. ETA: And Trinity as well. The Haj is an excellent book. It'll never be made into a movie due to Muslim "outrage". Unfortunately you're right. |

I want to see any movie where the hero is a white male. We won't see those again. Yeah, I did hear they replaced Keanu with Will Smith for John Wick 2. After the boycott...I welcome the pandering. Would love Von Neumann's War, The Looking Glass series and the Ghost ('Paladin of Shadows' I think is the official series name) series of novel's by John Ringo.
Never happen, but I'd love to see it. Could anyone else see Ron Livingston as the main character in Ghost? |

Quoted: The Battle of the Chosin Reservoir, aka the Frozen Chosin. Arguably the most epic battle waged by the US military during the 20th century. Not holding my breath because Hollywood is terrified of pissing off China (see the Red Dawn remake as proof). View Quote That deserves its own Band of Brothers style series. |

"The Red arrow Army", or the story of Fightin' Joe Westnedge.
There are too few modern WW1 movies, and even fewer that are well done, that honor the actual story of the real Heroes of that war. |

That's a great story and I'd love to see it in film. Edward Abbey was bad ass. Have you read his book, "Good News(oops wrong book, it's Brave Cowboy) "? It was made into a small B&W film from 1962 starring Kirk Douglas called, "Lonely Are the Brave". I recommend the movie highly. I fucking weep every time. View Quote I concur. Lonely Are the Brave was awesome. Book and movie. |

Films with original story lines, like the 80s & 90s instead of constant remakes all the time.

I'd like to see HBO (or Showtime, or Cinemax, etc.) do a series based on The Enemies Trilogy (Matthew Bracken). It'd be too much for a movie, but could be done right in a short run series
ETA: ... and Monster Hunter International, of course! |

trilogy adaptation of R A Salvatore's demon saga, with Elbryan and Jilsepony, and the fat, magic-rock wielding monk.....i thought peter jacksons trolls and giants came straight out of those books, they looked exactly like what i imagined while reading those books...
also would like to see another trilogy type set of R A Salvatore's Icewind Dale series....all the Drizzt and Wulfgar stories, but honestly i like the demon saga story better. also Robert E Howards short stories would be great on film...just that they'd likely be hour long shorts, but tha'ts ok... |

Good stuff! And my reading list expands. Can't believe I forgot Ringo. Shadowland another ancient classic. NO REMAKES PLEASE!!! |
