The one under siege right now. Hope it looks better from the inside than the outside.
Also hope all the people come out safe.

It is ugly and probably cost a fortune to build and is inefficient, etc., etc.  And the architect probably thinks he did a good job and has a model or photo of it on his desk.

Peter Lewis is the pres of Progressive ins. He's a super liberal who advocates the use of marijuana. Maybe his architect was on a LSD trip when it was designed. That's the only explanation I can come up with. He came up with the $$$$$$$ for that monstrosity...

I heard Lewis is so pissed off about the building design he won't give CASE any more money till the board steps down.  I also just saw some of the webcam footage of the SWAT team inside the building.

Should make SWAT's sweep interesting...

I like Gehry's buildings, especially the Bilbao Guggenheim.  The Rock n' Roll museum in Seattle is pretty hideous though.

I agree. That is one uglyass artsy-fartsy abomination of a building.

Art buildings are cool and all, plus its always good to see something different once in a while even if you dont like it.

However, all that planning and work to make the roof different looking, they could have done something better with the Brick foundation, just looks stupid and doesn't match the crazy roof.

I guess its like having a Rolex with a cheap rubber wrist band.

When we turned the news on my wife, & I thought they were showing the tornado damage in OKC, then they showed the swat team headed in.

You know, somebody had to stand back and look at a drawing of that thing and say "Yeah baby, I love it. Lets spend millions building it". [rolleyes]

Frank O. Gehry is a fucking genius! Even if you don't like the looks of that building you have to appreciate the complexity of the structure.

Well, I'm an architect, and I can appreciate what Gehry was trying to do. He's like some indie filmaker - trying to change our preconceived notions of what a building should be. The red brick box is a reference to a cliche.

One of my architecture profs worked with Louis Kahn. From the stories I heard about Kahn, I would say that he was truly an asshole too.

The first time I saw that building, I didn't know where it was or what it was about, but thinking it was damaged, I commented to the wife, "Look what the tornados did to that building, Honey."

Of course, much to my surprise, I later found out where it was located and that it was built that way on purpose.
