Yes, I know there is a sub for knives but I see cool shit posted here in GD by people who aren't in the sub then forget what the title of the thread was and then get bored trying to search through every random knife related thread in GD.

This is what I usually carry for long bike rides:

Paul said to cryo after the first temper, and clamp it to a bar while in the bath. You can anneal them, straighten, and re-quench. If you get small warps, you can clamp, and spot heat.

Got my Cuscadi scales and MXG titanium pocket clip on. I really don’t recommend either of them.

The clip doesn’t have a rear tang so no matter what the screw closest to the border of the grip won’t seat all the way on either the factory or Cuscadi grips.

The Cuscadi grips are too thick for the pivot. You can see that it’s only grabbed on by a couple threads and even that’s so tight I now have to flick the knife open. The G10 machining depth is all over the place so parts of the grips are actually smooth.

Going to put it back stock and probably sell the whole package as I hate the factor carbon fiber.

ETA: Third problem. Neither the MXG or factory screws are long enough to secure the pocket clip. The MXG must have grabbed by one thread as the clip ripped off first time pocketing it.

Both of these brands look good on Instagram but don’t give much thought into actually using them.

I’ll check them out. In factory form this knife is an Instagram model, nothing else. The grip is probably the worst I’ve felt but the Cuscadis do feel amazing in comparison.

ETA: Heck, I can probably get custom hardware made for cheaper than new grips. Maybe I’ll price that out first.
