i have a colt shorty with a flat top upper and a ARMS #40.  i think i need an extra tall front sight post.  looking at the Bushmaster catalog it says.

"Because the Colt A3 carry handle is taller than mil spec. it requires this modified .040 front sight post. This sight post should also be used with the ARMS #40."

when zeroed at 50 yds my tall front sight is almost out of the "well" and can wobble a little.

i have the same problem with my super swan sleeve on my flat top Armalite with the Armalite front sight.

so do i need something extra tall or what?

thanks,

procedure?  i thought all you had to do was adjust the front sight up or down to get it to hit dead on at 50 yds.  my rear sights do not have elevation adjustments.

i need to go home and measure the front sight height (above surface of the well) but i think it is in fact a little above the protective wings.
