according to this article, John Lott says that in the first 4 years of Texas' shall-issue laws for ccw, only 215,000 people got CCW permits...

That's bad.

All the numbers you hear about the millions and millions of gun owners, you would think in a state as big as Texas there would be more than a quarter of a million ccw holders.

According to the 2000 census, there was a total of 20,955,248 people living in Texas.

So 1% of the population got CCW's...

{chicken little mode} [red]Gun owners are too divided, and eventually the Gov't is gonna git us all.[/red]{/chicken little mode}

I just wonder if there is enough cohesion amongst us.  I'm pessimistic tho.  The future don't look bright.

It will be alright.[:D] Just think about how many people carry without a CCW because they know it's already their constitutional right.[:D]

Scott. I believe our nation has passed the point of no return. We are too far along the path to world socialism. While the pace may slow under this administration, it continues. You do well to be a pessimist, and it's not just the "gun" thing. Our great grandparents, grandparents, and parents have sold out their birthright, and ours too. We will never get the govt. back in it's Constitutional chains...(I'm 56 btw)
