I built a steel barrel for my flare launcher (the plastic one was scorched).

Now I'm wondering if I could shoot these Aguila mini shells out of it.

My biggest question:  Is the recoil going to break my wrist?

Any opinions?  I have both shot shells and slugs.

I'm not too proud to admit I'm scared.

BTW:  The new barrel is 4140 steel thicker than my 870's.

The only thing you can legally fire out of a flare gun is a flare.

Firing any type of Anti-Personel (ANYTHING OTHER THAN A FLARE) round is illegal out of a flare gun.

He meant if it is possible, not if it's commie legal.

I think it should work...

Just hold on...

I'd stick to the rule of "it's nobody's business unless you make it their business".

I've fired a .410 from a derringer and want to know if its going to be much worse than that.

I'm contimplating keeping a few rounds on the boat for just in case.

I've been told these rounds have very little recoil from a shotgun, but... this flare gun doesn't have much mass.  It is all steel though.

Just get someone to hold your beer before you touch it off.

I very much doubt the flare gun is built to take the pressures of a real shell.

[b]From Aguila's web site ;[/b]

All Types of [red]MINISHELLS[/red] are loaded to SAAMI specs according to 12ga shotshells of regular size, namely 2-3/4" or 3" in length. This means that regular shells and [red]MINISHELLS[/red] generate the same pressure in the chamber of 12ga shotguns. [red]MINISHELLS[/red] should NEVER be used in signal/flare guns or any other firearm other than 12ga caliber SAAMI approved shotguns. Failure to comply with this may result in injury or death to the user or others.

I have shot a couple of the mini shells out of a 1300 12ga and the recoil was lighter that a reduced recoil police training round but not much less.

Make sure you film it [grenade]

If I were to take pictures I sure as hell wouldn't share them with any of you!

I've seen too many photoshopped pics on this site.

You guys are a bunch of cold hearted bastages.

Pressure in short shells are higher than 2 3/4 or 3" rounds.
