I hated to do it, but last time I needed prescription safety glasses, I got them from the Walmart vision center. The frames are made by WileyX, and the clear lenses were $20. They were done in just a few days.
I got a clear pair, and a tinted pair. They've held up well, and I like them.
Given more time, I'll likely check out the online vendors, just to have more variety, and avoid Walmart.

I went to an eye doctor for the first time. got my Rx and got help selecting some glasses.
My eyesight isn't that bad, with an Rx I would have 15/20 vision (single vision) and of course a separate reading Rx.
I made it this far in life without needing an Rx, and thats partially attributed to wearing sunglasses all the time when outdoors.
We chose the WileyX sunglasses as a result; single vision and all the options. They checked with my insurance and they said it wouldn't be a problem.
Fast forward to when I was due to pick 'em up, the Dr. office called and said the insurance company wouldn't let me have them on my
plan because they were 'safety' lenses.
WTF? just because a material they use for the lenses are rated as safety glasses, they won't cover 'em (?)
I'm going to try and remember to call the insurance company and ask what the hell? Advancement in materials shouldn't restrict their selection,
it's not like I'm "buying" these for a job requirement.
anyway, looked at WileyX, which may not be covered, but I believe Rudy Project are.. so, again, WTH?
anyone with a recommended RP style?
How about sources to purchase eyewear in your Rx?
I'm new with all this and trying to figure out whats what.. thanks
