Wesley Snipes plays a "sniper" whose daughter is killed by a kid with a gun so he gets a AR15 and holds the wife of the firearms manufacturer hostage at gunpoint.

Also kills a journalist who is the son of a lawyer simply because he worked for the NRA. This movie is worse than Bowling For Columbine.

I am willing to bet this movie inspired John Mohammed and John Malvo to do the DC shootings.

Movie goes on and on about freedom to own a gun being absolute so since the "kid" had the freedom to bear arms (which we all know is a lie) Snipes character has a freedom to bear arms. They just gloss over that whole "You don't have the freedom to shoot people because you decide to" thing as being the same as the freedom to bear arms.

The premise of this movie is totally fucked. Rather than blame the kid who shot his daughter, he holds the manufacturer responsible and seeks justice from him. I wonder if the kid used a chainsaw to kill his daughter if Snipes character would saw the head off the President of DeWalt.

So I am gonna use the same premise.

It was Black Muslims who killed people in the DC Area. I am gonna hold the manufacturer (Black Parents) accountable. Should I start implenting my own justice?

God this movie is just stupid.

I think the victims of the DC Shooters should sue the producers of THIS movie for monetary damages.

I never was a Wesly Snipes fan. I guess he was just too cool for me. Did you know his acting debut was in the Micheal Jackson "Bad" video?

DeWalt makes chainsaws now?

Seriously now, SA, you're slipping. Surely you saw the trailers for this one and at least guessed that it might, just might, be an insult to common logic.

Regardless, I'm disappointed in you...although if you send GB $20, I might rejoin your fan club. [:D]

I can't disagree but I think the idea was OK but the result (as it often is) was not good.
This was another "good idea gone wrong" in that the motivation had no depth and simply served to just be more propaganda.
Personally, I think the movie needed more of this: and a little of this:

I watched another Linda Fourentino movie tonight instead of that.
Gotcha!

I made the mistake of renting this movie months ago. Heck it had a well known cast. Oliver Platt, Linda (however you spell her last name) and Wesley Snipes. All three have been blackballed. Never again will I give them my money.

I did a movie review here but it didn't get much play.

There's a reason why it went direct to video.

Actually, it didn't go direct to video, it was a "Cinemax Original Production."

I posted about this movie back on TFL:

Some memorable quotes from the film:

Joe (Snipes) - "We've got gated communities, and security systems, and we've got kids carrying assault weapons in their pockets because most people have never even read the Second Amendment!" [emphasis in original]

Joe - "Sure, my freedom of speech is protected...as long as I don't piss off someone with a gun!" [EIO, Ironically enough he says this less than ten minutes after sniping a reporter whose only crime was being the son of a "corrupt, NRA-supporting senator]

Liberty (Fiorentino) - "You know, the NRA is just going to spin this off [people like Snipes shooting people in the street for personal satisfaction] as another reason for people to be armed."
Joe - "Why not? I'm a law abiding citizen, simply exercising my rights. I'm defending myself from someone who's repressing my liberties."

Joe - "I talked to the father of the boy [who killed Snipes' daughter] and he told me he had 'taught him how to use guns safely.' I wanted to kill the son...I wanted to kill the father...but, here I am. [sniping innocent people, taking hostages, and setting off explosives]"

When did this POS come out?

Yep, it's a POS. I heard about how antigun it is on here previously. I just had to check it out. It's got to be one the most antigun movies I've ever seen. If you want to get seriously pissed off, I highly recommend it. Hopefully the only people renting it are gunowners who have heard how antigun it is.....

Just a note, I didn't rent it. It was on DirecTV last night.

It does seem like a POS anti movie but at the same time I felt that it really showed that PEOPLE kill people not guns.

I agree with this premise.

Usually the worst of the 'Anti' movies just reinforce peoples beliefs that an agenda is being pushed.

No doubt it will win "Best of what we wish would happen"  awards at some snot-nosed film awards circle-jerk.
