After 39 weeks, our second daughter has finally emerged.
She is our second, with our first daughter just turning 3YO last week. A really rough pregnancy, we were sure she wouldn't make it for a long time. With a combination of placental tears, heavy bleeding, and the placenta partially blocking the opening, it was really rough for a while. At one point, they told my wife that she was in the middle of a "spontaneous abortion" (miscarriage for the rest of the world), and scheduled her to get scraped out. Our OB-GYN let my wife be induced a week early, so we went in on May Day. At 1700, she was halfway through her dialation. By 1710, the OB was on her way home. By 1730, the wife felt like the baby was coming out, and the doc was called back. By 1747, Baby Stokes (Cheyenne Morgan for the record), was out and doing well. Momma and Baby are fantastic. Big sister is excited, and we're all home now. Some of the interesting facts for the day keeps us wondering. May 1 is the new baby's birthday, and is also my wife and I's 6th wedding anniversary. Also, my wife's long suffering grandfather passed away about 90 minutes after the baby was born. We were able tell him, where he raised his eyebrows for the last time, smirked and died 20 minutes later. He was very fond of my wife, and we're all very happy to see his suffering end. |

Tell the wife from all of us that she did great. That's really cool about her grandfather, my grandad understood that my brother and his wife had a child before the alzheimer's really took over, and I'm thankful for that. Glad the baby is fine after all the drama.

Congratulations Stokes!
Now it's time for the vasectomy, right [:)] |

Gorgeous little girl you got there.
Sorry about Grampa but glad he got to hear about the miracle. Now get to the bank and get her college fund started. Then get started on her black rifle and ammo fund. |

It's going to be a life membership to the NRA. But, anyone wanting to donate to her college fund, you just let me know! [;)] |

Congratulations. Now that the hard part is over, you can catch up on your sleep. [;)]

congratulations stokes, that is a beautiful little girl you have there..........and good luck as well!!!!!
sorry to hear about the complicated pregnancy, they're worth it though. i know my wife and i had to go through premature labor, 1 month premature birth, heart murmur, NICU, angioplasty, chemical burn from incompetent anesthesiologist, then finally heart surgery. but you get through it and makes you appreciate what you have even more. granted, he may well be an only child!!!!!!! |

Congratuations! Sorry to hear about your wifes Grandfather. Must have been quite a day.
