Animals - Lucky to be alive
Disturbing footage has emerged of two thieves choking a man until he was unconscious so they could steal his Rolex watch. The video shows the men entering a van hire shop on Court Road in Greenwich and assaulting a 46-year-old man. They can be seen choking the man to the point where he lost consciousness, then removing a Gold Rolex Yacht Master watch, worth £15,000 from his wrist News |

In our local IDPA they usually have at least one stage where you shoot from the sitting position.
It's the most legal fun you can have for $25. |

I had a gold submariner. This is why I sold it. Way too many people coming up in bars, etc..asking about it. Was a chick magnet though....surprising how some women are attracted to items of value
There was a story years ago in NYC where a guy stuck his hand out to pay a toll on one of the bridges and the car behind him ID'd a rolex. They followed him home and mugged him when he parked. |

I don't do things that draw attention to myself.
No tacticool backpack No stickers on my vehicles that would imply any valuables being inside No fancy watch, no 300 dollar shoes, coat, etc. I don't look like a big pay-day, and that's been working for me so far. |

If you are poorly or have no training, that's what it looks like. In this case, both sides didn't know what they were doing. The attacker essentially tries to use a bear hug around the victim's neck. He barely loses consciousness if at all. If someone is attempting to choke you using proper techniques, you have to act instantly as you may have as little as 4 or 5 seconds before you pass out. You must create enough space so the carotid arteries and trachea/larynx have little to no pressure on them. This is best done manually without a weapon as there is a counter to every technique. You simply may not have enough time to grab a knife, and discharging a gun towards an attacker behind you is obviously extremely dangerous. This isn't the same type of choke position, but it explains the principle of creating a space to render the choke ineffective. This is Kevin Secours whom my sensei has had down as a guest many times.
