Santa Fe, NM.  One evening the sunset was so amazing everyone in the dining hall sat up and walked to the windows to look at it.  They had absolutely amazing sunsets in that town.

Cabin out by Breckenridge CO. Cabin was in the side of a small mountain/big hill.  The view from the front porch faced south west, and the view went into a valley with a river in it, with a mountain range in the distance. At one point the sun rays were hitting the water just right to where it sparkled.  The sun slowly fell behind the range and turned the sky all sorts of colors. This was late summertime.

It was as close to heaven as you can get here in earth.

Been halfway around the world.  Nothing compares to a west Texas or panhandle sun set.

Not the best one I've ever seen, but this is one of the coolest I've seen lately. From about two weeks ago. Awesome orographic cloud structure over the continental divide.

The island of Roatan, I was 15 and drinking at a bar with my dad at the resort where we were staying. The bar was built into a hillside in the forest looking out towards the west. The sun was a blood-red disk as it set into the water on the horizon.

As a lifetime wilderness traveller, I've witnessed many. I have some great pictures. That said, I don't believe I could ever pick a favorite.

But every day, I am grateful for the ones I've seen, and the ones I'm always planning to see out there.

It's what keeps me going.

Sunsets in the tropics are nice, but the best ones I've seen have been in the various deserts of the world I've been fortunate to visit/live in.
