Ok, this is totally off topic for an AR site, but I had to post this... Got it today from a guy needing $$$. Came with holster, 3 mag holsters, 5 mags, and, of course, the gun below. Now, can the experts here identify it? Seems simple enough, but there may be a trick... Go get your catalogs...

It's a Springfield Armory Champion-1911A1, their not-so-full size 1911 pistol.

AFARR.... nope, sorry. Only partial credit... Champion, yes, but that's it. The rest you got wrong....

Hard to tell from the pic, but if I have it wrong, I'm wondering if it's been hard chromed (looks like my Delta Elite I had done).

Nope, not hard chromed. That's just the way a nice stainless finish looks on the crappy (and I do mean CRAPPY) digital camera that I had to beg, borrow, and steal to get. Any more guesses before I give it up? Check you catalogs one last time.....

I'll say a springfield since I can see it on the slide. (and since you already said it, but I just now saw the thread)

Can you take a clearer pic of it? My software can't clearly zoom in on the engraving. [;)]

Other than the Serial Number (which I don't necessarily want all over the net), detail of the engraving on this side would be the same as any other Springfield (Springfield Geneseo Il USA). But maybe the other side has something different about it..... hmmmmm

Arrggghhhh. No, I am not that sacreligious. I said in the right direction, but he went to far! Actually here ya go.... The gun is a Champion 1911-A1, but in .40S&W. They only made about 180 of them. So, it's pretty cool as far as I'm concerned....

OK, so I only banish you until Friday, Noon.

Don't you know the only acceptable round in a 1911 that is smaller in diameter than a .45 is a 10mm (and, no, the .40 Sellout and Wuss doesn't count).

PS--if you tell us you got it for under $400, I'm going to come and vomit on your computer.

Oh come on. The 40S&W round ain't that bad. And no, I didn't pay less than $400, but considering everything I got (all I listed plus a couple of trips to the range and the old owner, Danny Bush, a pretty damn good shooter, is gonna work with me on my shooting), I think it was a good deal. Especially when you consider they made less than 180 of them....
