Signed the paperwork today on a couple of supressors (.30 cal and .45).  Those currently waiting....what am I looking forward to time wise?

Probably 6-7 months, depending on whether or not they'll come in on a Form 3 first.

At the moment. any purchases done via a Form 4 trust look to be about 5 months out.  But I wouldn't be surprised if that balloons to 6 or 7 months.  Between Shot Show, and the mini NFA panic buying going on, lots of dealers are OOS.

My suppressor on a paper form 4 took 8 months from September '13 to May '14.  My e-filed form 1 SBR took 4 months from August '15 to December '15.  I would expect the wait now to be at least what it took for my suppressor.

I just got 2 form 1's back and know people that just got back form 4's. All came back this week and all were in the pipeline for about 4 months. Trusts and individual paperwork.

Wait times vary... I've had some back in 30 days, some in several months.  I think 3-4 months is the current wait, and it will grow as people are rushing to get in before 41F starts up.

Wow. When I got my suppressor a couple years ago I had waited about 13 months.

I have found this to be pretty accurate through 9 form 4's, 1 form 3, and 2 form 1's.

From what  I have heard Form 1s are around 4 months right now, Form 3s are 4-7 weeks, and Form 4s are 6-7 months.

Form 3...but he has to transfer to himself.....so he has all the info.    He moved to Louisiana and then came back to Texas.  He had them with his LA business and needs to transfer to his TX business.

Exactly, in the last 6 months there has been tons of forms sent in. Way more than usual I bet.

Form 1 wait times were 4 months before Zero's BS speech.

I was lucky and a year ago my sbrs rook 3 weeks.  My saker back in April took 4 months and when I did my other sbr and silencer the wait was and round 5 months (been 2 months so far)

Still waiting on the .22 can I ordered from.silencer shop in mid sept with a trust.

Best to buy it and forget about it.

Last 2 Form 4's on paper w/trust filed Aug 6th received Dec 18th, 4 mo's 1 1/2 weeks.

Didn't a shop submit something like 64 pounds of form 4s the day after obamas announcement?

I did a form 4 trust about 3 weeks ago. I'm expecting summer. Anything less and I'm happy.

4--6 months

Submitted a form 1 for an SBR and bought a can from SS on Sept 4th. Both through a trust. Got the SBR approval Jan 8th. I'm still waiting on the can.

My wife's form 1 got approved last week, filed in September , yours should be any day now, if they were efile.

I picked up my mask yesterday, purchased from silencer shop early August... My last couple have been under 6 months for form 3/4 combined. But I don't know if there will be any added backlog from trust purchases trying to beat the July rule change.

You're in for a really long wait with a really surprising and exciting email at the end of it.

I remember yelling "Holy shit!" out loud when I got my first form back.

I would be really surprised with an email... Form 4 efile hasn't been a thing for quite a while.  

Honestly it's best not to think about it, but I keep an eye on NFA tracker and if it feels like it's going long just call and make sure you are still pending and nothing is wrong.

I SBRd (form 1) a lower around 8/15 and it was approved 12/15. I purchased (form 4) a suppressor around 8/15 and I'm still waiting for it to get out of nfa jail.

That first email was for a paper Form 4. It was Silencer Shop telling me to come on over. It was glorious.

Bought 4 suppressors at the end of June, picked them up the beginning of December. Bought 2 more the first of August and I'm still waiting.

With the new 41p/f rush it will probably be 6-12 months.

i wish I had a local dealer like SS used to operate but I do like their powered by program compared to my other options out here.

I do wish they still let us pick up at their place, but I'll see how this Powered By thing works out soon enough. Have a couple of cans sitting at a dealer I've never visited waiting on forms to come back. Time will tell I guess.

But to avoid derailing your thread OP, do the best you can to forget about it. It'll happen when it happens.

Form 4 wait times are dependent on whether its on a trust, or individual. Trusts go faster. There are about six months before 41F takes effect, changing the trust regs.

While unusually long that isn't unheard of.

Weird, trusts are averaging 4-5 months currently. All mine are done as an individual and since july, I haven't waited more than 2 months for a form 1 or the 6 form 4s that got approved.

Early September,
The first one went into problem status because I put St. Augustine instead of Saint Augustine
I filled the other 2 the 3rd week of September..

My first one showed up today approved
A little over 4 months to approve it after my check was cashed.
10 days to get to me after it was stamped approved.

I did the Efile on my sbr last night,  so now I wait......

people in IL have been reporting about 2 month wait times on form 1s.

A couple years ago wait times were exceeding 12 months.  I have two suppressors I waited over a year on.  That was an experience.

i did a form 1 trust to build a sbr july 15th, 2015..... approved november 15th, 2015.. = 4 month wait.

i bought a suppressor august 1st, 2015, dealer sent in the paperwork.... was approved jan 15th, 2016. = 5.5 months.

i have multiple suppressors, and multiple lowers to sbr im messing with at the moment. im planning to add between 4, and 8 nfa items to my collection, and get them in before july 13th or whatever.. as im sure thousands of other people are trying to buy what they can to beat that deadline as well.  i would not be surprised if each week we wait right now before we file our paperwork, might easily, add a extra month to the wait time, before its approved, due to the backlog. i wont be a bit surprised if the suppressors and sbrs i already have processing dont take 6-8 months AT LEAST. hell, maybe a year... or even more.

one problem, if i understand this correctly.... when a shop orders their stuff from the factory.... they have to wait xxx days, while the paperwork processes... same for use. some shops order a few things...... some order a bunch...... if these shops didnt forsee a 41p rush, and order a large amount of stock early enough... i can see problems.

so even if a shop ordered 100 suppressors today, it would be months before they would get them, im assuming around the same time it takes us to buy one.. ( 4-6 months etc)....... then turn back around and you have to file your paperwork to buy them.  so, if these shops didnt already order a shitload of stuff, before 41p was posted, / this rush...... they very well might not get a resupply before its enacted in july.... at least thats my understanding.

most shops have stuff constantly coming in..... but not usually large shipments, ( like this 41p thing is demanding) .... i can see a big shortage of suppressors  / empty shelves very soon, which will cut off a lot of people from getting something before the deadline.

again.... if im correct... im still new to this stuff... im just going by what my shop told me..... they usually order xxx amount every so many months.... and by the time they are running low, the next shipment arrives xx months later..... but now things are selling out a lot faster than they are coming in, and its hard to get more product quickly.

so... dry shelves.

The problem is that the revenue generated from the tax stamps was supposed to stay within the bureau and be used to hire people to process applications.  If they'd done that the wait times wouldn't be very bad.  But instead congress took all that revenue and used it for other shit, so the few people left working there are swamped and theres a longass wait time.

According to NFA Tracker currently they are taking between 120-150 days.

Looking at the spike that is being reported for months ago, I'm going to guess jumping on the bandwagon now would net you at least 6+ months wait... that is assuming you have no form 3's to do first.
