Well ive been meanin to get a shotgun for a long time. and yesterday I finally got it. A Mossberg 590 12 ga. ghost ring sights and a bayo lug.
It all started a few months ago when I dug up some docs on suggestions for a tactical shotgun that id got from members of this site sometime last year. I was torn between the 590 and the FN police shotgun. www.fnhusa.com it was a bit cheaper than the 590 with a shorter stock and a faster sliding action. The 590 can hold one extra shell though and has that sweet bayo lug on the front. Then when on vacation I think it was last weekend I saw a 590 in a dicks sporting goods and I was hooked. Yesterday I put nearly $450 on the counter at the local gun shop for this sweet baby. Its the first gun ive ever bought that I wont have to worry about sighting in. Do we see a SideSaddle and Pistolgrip buttstock in your future? Maybe an 'evil' heatshield?
Oh, yeah! Nice shotgun. |

You suck[:D][:D]
I want one but money is so tight I might be sellin' stuff pretty soon. Hope I can get my Dad interested so I can keep the "babies" in the family. |

View Quote definatly a side saddle or bandoleer or maybe a shotshell holding sling. Ive also considered a folding stock though im not sure about a pistol grip only. the recoil is hard enough on my shoulder but on my hand alone......... unfortunatly I cant put a heat shield on it because of the ghost rings. but ill find other ways to trick it out [:p] |

One day if I'm ever rich like Bill Gates I'm gonna go round the country like Santa and steal all your Mossys, CAI guns and other crap and replace them with genuine reliable firearms. [:D]

Looks just like mine [:)]. Except I opted for the Speedfeed stock that holds four rounds. I DO recommend sighting it in if you plan to use slugs.
Bayonet - uses an AR15 bayonet! Go get yourself an M7 or M9 (M7s are much cheaper). |

[;D] btw Ive never heard of CAI. for me the seller of POS guns is SOG international. |

Actaully, you can put a heatshield on with the ghostrings. I have done it on about 6 including mine.

View Quote try gunbroker.com they had a 590 on there for $325 that I had considered but the action ended and I didnt see anything desirable for a while. Gunshop owners just seem to charge outrageous prices because they seem to think that noone doesn their research. I just wanted a shotgun and was willing to take the expense. but if you "really" shop around you could find a much better price. |

There is just some thing about a shotgun with a bayonet lug that turns me on.

Lots of people say #6 turkey load is best for home defense, but I personally prefer 00 buck. My model 500 has held up very well through many many rounds and a few years of abuse. |

got my 590 used from the local gun store for 220 out the door. no ghost sight but 8+1, heat shield, lug, and sling. it was in great condition and just came in that day. guess i got lucky!

Sweet....I'll have to put one of those on my wish list.
BTW...I'm glad I don't see any Jerkins lotion on the head board...unlike some other guy who posted (you know who you are [;D]) What's with the 77/22 or 10/22 stainless in the corner? |
|
you sir have good eyes. its a 10/22 My dad bought that for me for my birthday one year. its got a black synthetic stock and stainless steel settings. I wanted it originally to take my mind off of wanting an ar15. I was gonna fix it up with a folding stock, barrel shroud, high cap mags ect. but never got around to it. Ive got an adjustable scope mounted on it and its fairly accurate even with the short barrel. one of these days im gonna get a heavy "match" barrel and a bipod, sling, match trigger and a better scope. Ill probably use it as a companion varmint gun.

Haven't you ever heard of mustache rides? You gotts keep it at least untill you get your red wings! I've had mine since I could grow one, back in the early 70s. well everyone this has come to a sad end. sort of. I now desperately need the $450 I paid for it for somthin else. I dont have enough $$$ in the bank for what I need so my only option is to sell my beloved shotgun [:(]
Its not so bad really. I was probably gonna sell it anyway eventually to buy a shotgun that accepts choke tubes so that I could get seriously into shotgun hunting and skeet shooting. Today is memorial day, Im gonna shoot my shotgun one last time and then tomorrow I am going to see if the dealer will buy it back from me. I dont know how good my chances will be but all dependant It may end up on gunbroker.com or the arfcom equip exchange. If I had a job this would not be required. but it is becomeing increasingly harder to find work around here. oh well. I always have the memories. [shotgun] |
