I've decided to spend $50-100 per paycheck to stockpile for the year. Need suggestions on what to buy. I already have several ARs. My dad and I reload pistol calibers. I have 20 or so AR15 mags. I have multiple pistols in both polymer and 1911 style. I shoot 3gun monthly and practice shooting in my backyard range weekly. I shoot 3-4K in 9mm and 1-2k in 223 yearly.
How many AR15 lowers would you feel good about? They are $45 locally. How many bolts and other spare parts would you have? Should I focus on factory 223 ammo? Or reloading components for my pistol ammo? |
|
What are the brand of the lowers for $45 and where are they located? |
|
Reloading supplies.
If they try to regulate anything ammo related there will be a flood of people buying up reloading components. It doesn't go bad, and the price never goes down (from today's normal prices). Can't say that about much. |

The proper ARFCOM answer is always "both" or in this case, "all of the above."
Seriously! While 20 mags may well last you the rest of your life, why not add 5 - 10 a week until you double your collection? Add a thousand or two rounds of ammo to your stash, and definitely stock up on reloading components. Maybe add a lower and spare bolt or two. Personally, my main focus for 2016 is going to be on reloading components - hopefully enough to load all of my rifle ammo at least once, and a couple thousand pistol rounds. |

For me...
Ammo. Spare parts. Mags. In that order. I'll also wrap up a few builds during the year. But I'm more concerned about setting myself up to be able to shoot for many years with what I have, than adding new guns to the stable. |

Votes from dead people. That's what the Chicago Dems are stockpiling.

|
Take that $50.00 to $100.00/paycheck and put it in the stock market. If you want to stockpile ammo, cut down on your shooting.

Most anything gun related that is imported, regardless of of the current administrations future or planned actions.

20 mags? buy mags and ammo. I would shoot for 10-15 lowers 5-10k of 556 5-10 lowers after this start getting the spare parts, bolts, uppers barrels etc and reloading supplies.I I'd think lowers are the strongest component in the rifle and the spare (upper) parts should take priority |

More because I've about depleted my current stock and piled up a good bit of loaded ammo than anything else. |

Ammunition and reloading components. You can't go wrong with those.

Something tells me we are going to be breaking background check records every month/quarter throughout 2016.

Ammo and mags................then more ammo and mags................as much as my budget will allow

Spring repair kits and field repair kits for your ARs.
Also repair kits for your handguns. Always make sure you can keep/em up and running. |

If you have a retirement plan that is on track, savings, no cc debt and cash on hand, then I'd say a Glock, night sights, mags, and ammo.
ARs are just toys. Get a gun that you can carry. |
|
for each lower get a parts kit+1k ammo+10 mags
for every 5 lowers get a bolt and spring kit (maint items) repeat until out of money. |
