Damp cold................been a long time since I was there, but it is winter, you'll be on the ocean, the wind will be off the ocean, and it will be damp cold......did I mention it will be damp cold!!

I've been there twice on business and loved it. Definitely a sailing/boating haven. It's not that big so I'm assuming you'll cover all the good places to eat in a matter of a few days.

I visited there a few years ago. I went to restaurant/bar that had a whole lobster and a beer for 15 bucks. I can't remember the name though. It was not on the water front. Any ideas fellow rhode islanders?
Edit: The place looked didn't look upscale at all. (which i like) |

I grew up in New Bedford, MA which isn't far from there. There is a lot of excellent Portuguese food in the New Bedford/Fall River area that I encourage you to try. Cafe Royal II on Rt 18 in New Bedford is wonderful. Also Pa Raffa's and Ma Raffa's for Italian food if you get there.

Thames St International Yacht-Athletic Club. Storefront social club. If you've staying by the waterfront. Dress warm from the cold wind off the water get gusty. |
