For those not in power, but those who cede their power to others.
A free people have the power to choose their individual destiny's.  There are those who are incapable of living in a world where the responsibility for your own life is yours.  Those people crave to be led through life, absolved of the pressure to have to decide what direction their life takes.
These people realize that their infantilism is hindered by citizens who do not need the power of others to succeed in life.
Guns are a tangible symbol of power and independence in the hands of the people; as well as a tool against the tyranny of the weak.  To the adult infants, guns are a wall across their yellow brick road.

....and yet the same entity that holds their hand through life now will have no problem using those guns on them later. History tells us what happens to a people after their government disarms them.

This is part two of that.  In their minds, they are the "right-thinkers", and cannot imagine life without the security of others in charge.  That is why they look upon self sufficient people as " nuts".  The words they use to describe gunowners shows this.  Not only is it insulting and derisive; it exposes the anti-gunners disbelief that anyone can be so stupid, as to want a life without the security of the state.

We exist with a lot of people that just want to be sheep.

It's hard and scary to be an adult; Many are uncomfortable (and ill-suited) to be one.
Those who cannot handle it see those who can handle adulthood and it scares them.

It truly is like dealing with a child

To the OP, isn't it amazing how parenthood opens your eyes to so many things.

Not so much a desire to be sheep, as it is an a desire to be like a child.

Think about how it was to not need to worry because Mom and Dad would take care of it.
No worries about paying your bills. or having to work, or having to deal with the real world.

Some really are children in adult bodies, it's the easy way out, and so many are lazy.
