a mak-90 should of come with wood stocks, should be easy to find at a gun show, the mak90s stock (I THINK) is the only one with a rubber buttpad.
KVAR corp in vegas sells a lot of AK parts, tapco in SGN should have a lot of parts, the nicest stocks are the hungarian SA85. Ace sells a sweeeet wire stock, definetly worth a look before you buy, but pricey. pick up a SGN and they should be easy to find, the Mak90 has a STAMPED reciever so you need the correct stock, DONT get the stock for a milled reciever, it WONT fit. the mak90 is one of the better AKs out there, no reason to be ashamed of it, i WISH i had bought those up years ago. |

Keep in mind that you will have to install enough US parts in or on the gun so that it is no longer considered imported. Stupid? Yeah, it is but I didnt make the law. I dont know the exact specifics to this but you cannot just stick a stock set on and be legal. I have a SLR-95 that I hated the thumbhole stock on. Because my rifle is milled I only had to change 5 parts to get the US parts count high enough to be legal. I ordered a US made synthetic stock set from K-Var as well as US made magazine followers & floorplates. The stock set counts as 3 parts (buttstock, front handguard, pistol grip). I believe that on a stamped rifle you will have to change 6 parts to be legal. Other parts some people change include piston, trigger components, or the muzzle break. What it all breaks down to is a bunch of BS laws designed to try and trip up legal gun owners. Please dont use my information as absolute knowledge, instead, use it as an idea that you need to look into this further. Good luck. dizzy polytechs were originally installed with
the polymer's, the norincos were not; well were imported then changed here with them. |
