Well, Clark finally did it, a custome job on a mini that looks to be decent. The article is on Shooting Times autoloaders buyer's guide 2001.
He will put on a custom 20in heavy match barrel, new gas block, do a trigger job on it (bringing it down to about 3lbs), and bedding the action into the stock.
They claim it will produce minute of angle performance. the results in the article range from 1.07 to 3.52 in groups with factory ammo, and the few hand loads tested produced 1.03 to 2.55 in groups. The author made the comment that if the first for rounds were considered, the accuracy improved and the rifle had a habit of letting that last round be a flyer.
I think if you could play with the hand loads more then what they did, you might find the magical mix that will work with your rifle....this has possiblities....i might have to do it. Guess i will put my butler creek forlder on my mini 30 if i do this. this aint cheap. $650 for a blued customer supplied rifle..hmmm...Think i will work up an ar tack driver first, but this might be a good future upgrade.
