I've been please with Straight Talk (5 GB/ month). $45

Cricket costs $10/ month less but, only offers half the data.

Take a look at Cricket, if you need to use AT&T towers and don't want Net10 or Straight Talk.

If you phone can be activated on Verizon, their own Prepaid plan is OK too.
If you use Auto-pay, you can get 2 GB LTE with unlimited T&T for $45 per line, plus tax.
Without auto pay, it's only 1 GB

Straight Talk (WalMart). Watch the carrier each device uses, though. AT&T has limited coverage in my area, although their website says my Zip Code is GTG.

This and you can be on either the Verizon or Sprint network depending on the phone you pick (4g even for both now if you have a capable phone).

Verizon has a 'prepaid' option now, I'm not sure if it's what you're after, though.

Metro PCS is $40 a month with 2GB of 4G data, and less for multiple family lines.

Check Walmart offerings but verify the provider and how well they suit your situation.

+1 for PagePlus -- They use Verizon's network.  Just buy a used Verizon phone when required.

Metro PCS, two lines, unlimited talk and text, 80 bucks a month. Been with them for almost two years.

No complaints except the people at the stores are morons.

You're not going to get anything close to actual customer service from any prepaid provider. So just go with straight talk.

The biggest question is what devices will you be bringing and are they locked to a certain carrier?  That will determine what prepaid options you have.

If they are AT&T devices and they are locked to AT&T that will mean you'll have to use an AT&T MVNO or provider. If they are unlocked then you can use them on a T-Mobile provider too.

Just know that on prepaid your customer service will be bottom of the barrel.  Count yourself lucky if you get a live person in India to help you out.

Cricket is probably your best AT&T prepaid provider at this point. They are owned by AT&T but as a completely separate company.

A lot of these companies mentioned, Page Plus, Straight Talk, Tracfone, Net10 are all owned by sleezy billionaire Mexican Carlos Slim, and his America Movil/Telmex company. They are famous for crappy customer service.

Straight talk has been fine for me.

Pick an ATT network phone when I need a new one, buy it and swap in my sim card.

$45/month auto paid on my credit card, great service anywhere ATT works.
