Seems way more complicated and potential risk to workers compared to hanging.

A .308 caliber bullet is roughly $.36. I'm sure you could find a volunteer to donate that bullet and/or administer it to most convicted murderers.

It doesn't work for Hydrogen Cyanide so why would it work for Nitrogen? it's sort of like the military CS training chambers. You can stay in as long as you want, but you're not getting out till you take a good, deep breath and start enjoying the effects. Not to mention that for an execution you're wired to medical monitors to make sure you're fully baked before you're removed. |

They fall asleep, and don't wake up. |

Nitrogen is an interesting choice.
That is some deadly stuff to be dealing with, every year workers are killed by nitrogen asphyxiation. We did a lot of purging with nitrogen on lines and confined spaces, one mistake by not sampling the atmosphere in the space and entering usually leads to a fatality. |

Most humane execution possible. Put death row inmates in controled envirment cell. At a unannounced time pump nitrogen into the cell. They die without knowing any thing is happening.

We already breathe a majority of nitrogen, inhaling the pure stuff results in a loss of that 20.95% of oxygen that sustains life and thus we lose consciousness. Air by volume, dry air contains 78.09% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen,[1] 0.93% argon, 0.039% carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases. Air also contains a variable amount of water vapor, on average around 1% at sea level, and 0.4% over the entire atmosphere. |

So the guitarist for my band, his dads fiance is the lady that was married to the victim at the time of this. She's a very nice lady. Very supportive. She was asked to be on Dr. Phil for a live interview, or to at least have a teleconference or recording and she denied it. Susan Sarandon wanted would have been on the show and she is very much against this (and all) executions.
What is interesting is that, while looking for information on this, there is no physical evidence linking Glossip to the murder other than the testimony of a man with an IQ below 100 who actually murdered the lady (who is serving life in prison). What is even more interesting is that, in all of this time, Glossip has had nobody come forward to help him with some of his claims. It's a very weird case. |
