Always had Eotechs, ready to try something different. Optic will go on a Tavor, and I'll probably get one for my v11 also.

So, which model should I get, and what should I be looking for? Mounts recommended? I'm a complete aimpoint noob.

Thanks guys.

this would be my call. Either the MRO or wait for an Aimpoint Micro PRO that costs the same.

Definitely want QD, but I prefer American Defense mounts. Just a personal preference.

Other than size/weight that the micro obviously has the advantage with, is there anything that the comp m4 or pro does better than the micro?

I like my Comp M2 model with LaRue Mount. The three year battery life rocks.

You could get the patrol model with the Aimpoint base and if you like it, proceed to outfit using one of the smaller models and if you didn't you could sell it and buy an Eotech.

Why no love for the CompM4 on a rifle?  I'd have thought the larger optic size would be preferable?

Battery life is crazy long with the M4

Some people prefer the large tube of the M4 and Pro over the micros (larger FOV looking through the optic)
Some people prefer the smaller tube of the micros (easier to see around the optic)

you will not be dispaointed with the American defense mount if you go with one of the micro's if cost is an issue look into pro's

I have several Comp M4's and love them. They are tank tough and the battery life is first rate.

Pro.

QD is cool but not needed unless you want to put other QD glass on it. For a mount you should get lower 1/3 cowitness.

If you do go with QD go to the standard larue/bobro/adm. Some are more expensive than others.

I've got four ADM aimpoint mounts lol, they're great.

The Comp M4 has the cheapest batteries, but costs like twice what a Pro does. IMHO the mico is way to small of a view. I don't get it. The oldest of my aimpoint pros (3 or 4 years old, when they first came out) finally required a battery replacement a few months ago after being a "stay on" home D optic.

I sold my M4s in larue mount and bought two aimpoint pros with the money.

I'd take you up on that but my T1 goes on a PS90 and the M4 is too big for that.

What are you wanting to spend?

I like the T1 but have not been able to buy one yet.  I was able to pick up a couple M4s a couple years ago on the EE for $385 each and like them. But I am getting away from Red Dot optics, my astigmatism is getting worse by the week!

I really like the Larue/Bobro QD mounts.

I have a Pro now.  It has not yet found a permanent home - but suspect it will live on my 300blk sbr - right in front of a psv-14.  I am working up a PS90, but the pro is not a good choice there.  Recently built up a suppressed 22 pistol for night shooting - it has a t1 clone on it.  Will probably go T1, MRO or other when the PS90 is ready to be finished.
