It has taught me to not covet another man's positions but to instead work toward bettering my own family. Also it has given me the ability (through aggregated news topics) to relate to almost anyone. Even in Okinawa I was able to discuss China's aggression into Japanese waters.

I love you AR15.com

No, reading what is happening in this country and the world every day helps nothing.

Nope.

It's does expose me to a greater slice of this country's inhabitants on a regular basis. I get to see some extremely smart and funny folks, but they're offset by the narrow minded and backwards members of this board. It's kind of a wash.

Jaded maybe but I'm not bitter towards anything. In direct relation to my life I see failing bit not bitterness. I do know people who became entrapped in their bitterness and live sad lives

Actually, much better politically informed and schooled on why less gov and vote with your wallet works. Don't buy from companies that have shitty policies, don't make more laws to regulate them.

I am much better informed on geopolitical event than before, given that the economic/investment threads make me weep for humanity.

You have to filter. Ducks swim in the sun, the rain, and can swim under water if needed. Things are sideways now on this board but I remember reupping the membership of that guy who's RV would not start. I cried reading that thread. It balances out the vitriol we (me included) get here.

I don't know if Arfcom specifically had anything to do with anything, but I have never been happier in my life since I have belonged here. That much is true. As I said though, don't know if Arfcom is to be credited with this, but eh. It is all good.

After being here going on 13 years, I do filter a lot of shit out. There are just moments of galactic scale stupidity that make me sad for this country.

It has taught me that no matter how fucked up my day is , somebody has it worse.

It has taught me that feeling  sorry for yourself will get you nowhere.

When I lost my boy 4 years ago it taught me that there are a metric shit ton of unbelievably caring people on this board who truly care about their fellow man.  Posts , IM's and calls from people I will probably never meet face to face that kept me sane and honest to god kept me from eating a bullet myself.

Has it made me a better person???   Damn right it has. As much bullshit as this place has it is still a place where you find a lot of true compassion. Thank you all so much..........Denver D
