Alright first off this optic will be on a Scar 17 .... I will be shooting under 600 yards

Choices:
New TA11 ACOG with 308 Green Horseshoe w/Larue Mount
Vortex Razor 1-6 VMR2 MRAD Mil/Mil w/LaRue LT111 QD Mount

The vortex is for sale locally and is lightly used .... Both are priced the same at $1200

TA11!!! I have been using and beating the shit out of my TA11 for eight years now and it still works great!

If I had 1200 to spend on just an optic I'd get a trijicon acog of some sort

Buy 3 vortex somethings.

I always felt the acogs were kinda heavy for what they were.

Maybe go with an accupoint in what ever magnification your like?

If not the razor would be my choice, especially considering what they retail for

I'm going to say get a simple 4x or 1-6x Kahles or S&B

Got one of the new Trijicon Accupower scopes, and it works, but seems cheap compared to those.

Well the vortex w/Mount is obviously a better deal considering everything new is about $1650 and the acog is around $1300

If ACOG is an option then ACOG is the answer.

IMO, worth what you paid.

Weren't there a few threads on here about the scar heavy being real hard on optics?  See alot of them with acogs , not too many with vortex's.

I have several ACOGs and a Vortex Razor 1-6x. Depends on how you plan to use the rifle.

I have the TA11H in a Larue mount on my .308 AR.

I'd probably get the vortex.
