Hello, anyone know where I can get a couple of cases of military issue first strike rations?
EBay really doesn't show anything and what few I have found out there people are asking way too much money for them? Since this is almighty ARFCOM anybody here help me out give me a good source? Thanks |

I don't believe they're commercially available.
What's your intended purpose? It's not difficult to fabricate your own, but they're mostlyly snack stuff and not something I'd want for extended use anyway. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

What's in a first strike that isn't in an MRE? The little pocket sandwiches?
My understanding was it was primarily calorie dense snacks that are readily available in the MRE. Welp, here we go: http://www.mreinfo.com/us/fsr/first-strike-ration.html |

My answer to the same need was a mix of MRE components and commercial stuff like the kind brand snack bars that can be rotated easily. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Bridgeford sells the little BBQ beef and various sandwiches. I use them for hunting, but frankly they're mostly bread, and they give me indigestion. And they're about $4 per sandwich. Their chief appeal for me is the fact I can leave them in my pack for a year and they're just as good, or bad, as when I bought them.

To my knowledge First Strike Rations are not available commercially. They are on ebay.

I lived on some for about a week when I had to stay put for awhile at a client site while paperwork issues (which could and SHOULD have been handled in about 30 seconds prior to my arrival) were resolved. I've had better, but was thankful for it.
I chew gum, but hated that caffeine-laden version. Rather bitter. Sandwiches were alright, but not memorable one way or the other. Zapplesauce was OK at best. Also a bit bitter due to the caffeine additive. They also had some separate large Hooah bars, which were OK. I liked the peanut butter best, but the peanut butter didn't come with the rations. They have re-named them Soldier Fuel bars, and they are available on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Soldier-Fuel-Energy-Bars-Peanut/dp/B00ADJCU1U/ |

First Strike rations are so meh. Id much rather have a regular MRE.

CID isn't going to go after small ticket non serialized items unless it is a large amount and even then it is a consumable item. |

Me ???
Not at all . Just looking to buy some rations dude don't make a big deal out of it |

There's like five or six guys on YouTube that post pics of reviews of military MRes .
Like the other person said it's considered a consumable. Hell I can remember as a kid going into army surplus stores with my dad and buying 1960s and 1970s dated C rations I thought I read somewhere that Uncle Sam's retail outlet.com actually is starting to sell some surplus rations ? I thought that through DRMO that there were some that were getting out into the marketplace couple of years ago at least that's what I was told by a friend in the surplus business |

If you don't mind me asking you said you were at a clients site ? Private contractor? I'm a military security contractor. The client was a JSOC-A element at Bagram. I worked at their facility up north, but wasn't cleared for the Bagram facility. I had to stay where I was for a few days while they cleared up some issues with my authorization. Company had effed up, but the client treated me great. Sure beat having to stay at the clamshells at Camp Warrior, which is where I spent most of the rest of my in-transit stays. The JSOC guys treated me a hell of a lot better than either Big Army or the company I worked for at the time. |

Just curious looking at your avatar picture there have you ever been to Aubagne? No. The French Metro Para beret badge, diploma, and wings and Slovakian beret were presented to me after I screwed up a parachute landing in Slovakia jumping with some French, Slovak, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, and Portuguese guys. 4 good jumps, 3 good landings. 6 sets of wings. Even with the 6 week hospital stay at the Slovakian military hospital until they could pin my leg back together, it was still one of the best memories of my life. |
