Apparently, they had a hard time keeping splinters out of the earlier versions of manufactured toilet paper. Maybe it wasn't until WWII that the processing methods improved to the point that you could wipe carefree without worrying about splinters. |

I was born in 73 and I always wondered why my grandmother had every closet stacked to the ceiling with TP as I was growing up.
Never made the connection until now.

The Moratorium on 2 ply. The Ban on Bran. Go try and find a Sears catalog from '73. Try, I dare you. None survived.
