Vehicle mounted shotgun in bad neighborhood sounds like a terrible idea. Why not mount out of sight to trunk lid? Faster access too.

Consider a headliner rifle mounting system. It is hardly visible from pedestrian eyes and easily accessible when needed.

Headliner would be a lot easier to deploy from then under the rear seat. Make sure you use a lock on the gun mount and set a remote switch somewhere use a 10 second timer on it so you can hit the button and deploy the weapon. Similar to what is in a cop car any police vehicle upfitter can help you out with the supplies or go to galls.

In IA, if the gun isn't actually on you, and it's uncased, everyone in the vehicle is considered to be carrying, so everyone needs a permit. May or may not be an issue for you. |
