Hey guys,
I recently took a new job and it requires me to stay in not so good neighborhoods, actually one of the top 5 worst in the country for several years running.
I drive a four door car and want to mount a shotgun to the floor in the back seat, either under where the legs of the back passengers would go or where their feet would go.
Any suggestions how to do this?
Thanks!!

You would probably be better served with a decent handgun in the console.

Vehicle mounted shotgun in bad neighborhood sounds like a terrible idea. Why not mount out of sight to trunk lid? Faster access too.

Not faster if I am in the car. Also I will be in my trunk a lot for supplies.

It would probably depend on how the legs of the back seat are designed. Like how in an older car the seats sit on pedestals but a new car usually has some plastic crap around the bottom of the seats that cover the hard mounts. Do you understand what I mean? maybe you could get some Velcro loops to secure the gun to the seat? I don't know how easily accessible that would be but if you have time to climb in the back and get your scattergun then 1 second probably won't matter.

Have you thought about attaching to the headliner? Might be easier to access especially from the front seat. But I don't know how you'd attach it.

Ah, assumed you wouldn't be trying to wield a shotgun in a vehicle. Does it need to be secured / locked or are you going for more of a speedy mount?

I thought about the Velcro idea. My back windows are tinted pretty dark, plus a black interior and a black shotgun, I was hoping would blend in.
The headliner is a nice idea too, I'll have to check and see if an 870 is able to be hidden.

Consider a headliner rifle mounting system.  It is hardly visible from pedestrian eyes and easily accessible when needed.

Headliner would be a lot easier to deploy from then under the rear seat.  Make sure you use a lock on the gun mount and set a remote switch somewhere use a 10 second timer on it so you can hit the button and deploy the weapon.  Similar to what is in a cop car any police vehicle upfitter can help you out with the supplies or go to galls.

Neither model will interfere with the airbags. I have been using the BSR 1 in my Duramax and Tacoma and have see one mounted in a granola powered Subaru.
These guys have been in biz for years and are a solid company.
No one will notice it from outside the vehicle.

I wonder what the police would say if I got stopped with it. Looks like a great idea though!

Unsure of your location but, should get nothing but, compliments. It is secure, not concealed(if this is an issue in your location) and responsible.

Look into laws on passengers in your state OP. In IA, if the gun isn't actually on you, and it's uncased, everyone in the vehicle is considered to be carrying, so everyone needs a permit. May or may not be an issue for you.

OK really I was thinking of this and it took a second to find.

With a pistol grip maybe?
