The fast-food chain is getting rid of margarine and swapping it for real butter on its McMuffins, biscuits, and bagels, CNBC reports. McDonald's hasn't responded to a request for comment.

A slow shift from catering to the ghetto crowd? Too little too late IMO.

Too little, too late.

They need to go back to cheap food.  Like their McDoubles or McChickens...for $2.19 they suck.  For $1, they are good.

Automate what you need, but inexpensive quality will help them win it back.

I stopped eating margarine when somebody pointed out that flies don't even bother landing on it, and flies have no problem licking up shit.

Chemically, it's closer to plastic than food.

So, good for McDonalds for improving the 2 items on their menu that really didn't need any improving.

I used to go there almost weekly and buy stuff off the dollar menu.  I thought the $1 double cheeseburger was thoroughly worth it.

When they changed up there dollar/value menu and stuff got expensive I lost interest.

Aren't they going to start serving breakfast nationwide in October?

I could have sworn I ready an article that the 24 hour breakfast test they did earlier this year was well received, and it was going to be commonplace.

ETA: Should have read all responses before posting. This was already addressed.

As it turns out, the cholesterol in butter isn't as bad for you as the trans-fats in margarine and it tastes better.

Their steak, egg, & cheese bagel (when properly assembled) is awesome.

A little too much or not enough of something, or the bagel not toasted right, and it's not good.

A girl I work with and her trailer trash boyfriend don't eat there anymore because it's "too expensive."

Just a thought, raising prices on shitty food can change clientele.

I can feed my family at chili's with free kids food for the same price

For what fast food places want for a burger and fries I can get curbside at a chain faster. Just have to call ahead. I only drink water or beer so either way it's cheaper

He'll the quesadilla burger at Applebees is sex on your mouth for 9 bucks with fries. Call curbside, eat it at the bar and your winning

And drop the price.  What are they nowadays, like $3.50 just for the sandwich?  Breakfast Jacks at Jack in the Box are only $1.19 and are just as delicious.

you don't have to hide. 87% of arfcom hate comes from people who claim to never eat at the places they hate. I could make some banging ass food in the BEQ but it would cost $30 a plate.
At the same time I can live off of buche y tripas from a shitty taco stand.

I love their bacon, egg, and cheese bagel.  I got a steak one by mistake one day, and I tried it.  It tasted so bad I threw it away after one bite.  The "steak" smelled like cat food.

When McDonalds automated the eggs, their breakfast went to shit. The "scrambled" eggs are fucking bad. A few years ago, I ordered a "big breakfast" and was told the machine that makes the scrambled eggs was broken.

Basically the original mcmuffin and pancakes are the only things I'll get from there.

And don't EVEN get me started on the $3 OJ that are short filled in those little clear cups!!
