Saw this one in the Metro Louisville (KY) area. What kind of spider is this? It does not look like a brown recluse .

Looks like a common Brown Barn Spider that start showing up in this area this time of year...but with legs on steroids.
I was visiting my dad the other day, and after a couple hours walked back out the front door I had originally walked through when I came over. One the size of a quarter had built a web between the main and storm door. I came within inches of walking right into the damn thing. |

I'm going with it being an LSD spider. |

Barn spiders are N. hentzi, not crucifera. 
eta2: It looks like there isn't much distinction between hentzi and crucifera, I guess both could be right for a barn spider. |

plain ol' Barn Spider.
Everywhere around here. The best is when you walk into a web face first and feel that fat little bugger hit you in the forehead. 
They won't hurt you but they can sure make you hurt yourself.

Had a argiope aurantia crawl up my leg yesterday while fishing. Had a few minutes of NOPE going on before I figured what the 2" long spider crawling up my leg was and put it somewhere else.
