GRAND BLANC TWP, MI -- Outside the emergency room at Genesys Regional
Medical Center in Grand Blanc Township, fellow troopers spoke solemnly about critically injured Trooper Chad Wolf, who remained unconscious inside. Wolf's wife is at his side. Eight shiny, blue state police motorcycles were parked in rows near the hospital entrance. It was about 6:30 a.m. Friday when a 72-year-old man in a four-door car hauling an empty trailer hit Wolf, a motorcycle patrol trooper. ... State police Col. Kriste Kibbey Etue says the driver proceeded "several miles" with Wolf trapped beneath his vehicle before pulling into a rest area in Holly, where several witness saw what had happened and called 911. "We all wonder how that could happen," said State Police 1st Lt. Monica Yesh. The "very cooperative" driver was questioned and released. State police officials wouldn't reveal the man's reason for not stopping sooner. Update: http://www.wzzm13.com/story/news/local/michigan/oakland/2015/10/23/motorist-charged-state-troopers-traffic-death/74470852/ Prosecutors today charged a 69-year-old Waterford man with two 15-year felonies in the August death of a Michigan State Police trooper who was knocked off his patrol motorcycle and then dragged for miles by a utility trailer being pulled by a car. Charles Raymond Warren was arraigned in Clarkston District Court today, charged with reckless driving causing death, and failing to stop at the scene of an accident, when at fault, resulting in death. He was released on a $100,000 personal bond. He will wear an electronic tether, and will not be allowed to leave the state, pending his trial. His next hearing is Nov. 6. |

Driving while old is almost as dangerous as driving while drunk.

Driving while old is almost as dangerous as driving while drunk. Going through this with my grandfather. On the farm he drives fine but out on the open road watch out. We force him into taking a driving test with a driving school. Perfect says the teacher. In the last 15 years I have been in the vehicle the most with him. I am the most afraid to drive with him. |

Thanks, I was trying to figure out the local news photos. Showed bike on start of exit ramp, then pics in rest area of EMT.

Yikes. I can't imagine. That trooper is lucky to be alive at all, even unconscious.

Continue praying please! Chad is a friend of mine and truly a great guy. He has four children and very active in his church.

I tried to get on 75 south this morning but it was blocked. Didn't know why and had to take Dixie Hwy down.

Did he ever work SE Michigan? He looks just like the MSP motorcycle trooper who pulled me over about 3-4 years back. Super friendly. Was on a Harley, though I think the BMWs are fairly new?
Now that MSP is more active on Southfield Freeway I see a LOT more cringe-worthy situations where people don't clear the lane when the troopers have someone pulled over on the shoulder. I'm surprised more don't get hit. |

Hope the bike cops pull thru
Had a 60-70 year old gentleman in a Buick Century pulling a pop up trailer run me into cones yesterday heading into work when he crossed to the fast lane over a solid white line in a construction area! He kept his eyes the other way after that, his wife's eyes looked like 20" wheels I gave her a happy wave and moved on..... But I have a cone dent in my Impala hood and dropped my smoked chicken thigh! DROPPED MY FUCKING SMOKED CHICKEN THIGH........ |

Stupid old cunt.
I cannot beleive he dragged the cop for 4 fucking miles.....4......fucking......miles!! |

I hope the rumors that he passed are not true. I live right near where this happened - this morning when I saw the story on the news, I could hear the traffic/news choppers overhead even though I'm a good mile from 75.
Traffic has been awful in the area all day since they shut 75 down. Dixie Highway has sucked and overflow has even hit smaller tertiary (like, dirt!) roads as people are trying to get home or to their camping spots up North. |

Terrible.
http://www.mlive.com/news/detroit/index.ssf/2015/08/michigan_state_police_announce.html RIP, Trooper. |

How the hell can you not know you hit someone?
This is the 2nd crash I have heard like this in the past few months. Both car drivers happen to be old http://myinforms.com/en-us/a/14463299-navarre-man-killed-in-motorcycle-crash/ |

There will be an incident report and UD-10 (accident report) made and filed. That report will be forwarded to the local county prosecutor's office for review and the authorization of charges. At the very least, the driver will likely be charged with a misdemeanor charge of "Moving Violation Causing Death," though other, more serious charges may be authorized (e.g., Failure to Stop at Scene of Accident - When at Fault - Causing Death; 15 year felony). |

Why I believe those 60 and over should have to have an annual exam to continue with driving privileges.
It's a serious danger. Fuck, I'm from Florida (aka God's waiting room) and most accidents I see are due to old people who either can't drive worth a shit or are so dangerous on the road it causes accidents. |
|
Jesus that is awful! I don't want to even imagine how bad the wounds are.
