Officers were responding to a burglary call about 1 a.m. Friday in Arlington when they discovered someone had driven a vehicle through a front window of the Classic Buick GMC, according to a statement from the Arlington Police Department. The statement said police approached the suspect and a struggle ensued. At some point during the struggle, an officer shot Taylor. View Quote Police identified the officer as Brad Miller, a 49-year-old who has been with the department since last September and who has been working under the supervision of a training officer since his graduation from the police academy in March. The police statement said Miller had no police experience before joining the Arlington police force. Miller will be placed on administrative leave, which is routine in such cases. Independent criminal and administrative investigations, according to the police statement. |

Read the comments in the middle of the article. They all make it sound as though the cops choose innocent "teens" at random and shoot them. I guess it was his unlucky day.

Who'd have thunk that crashing into a business at 1am and fighting with the police would turn out badly?
The usual 'good kid', after all he had only 1 drug charge and completed probation.
I don't know if it was a good shoot ot not but these articles implying that the police need to be taking incoming rounds before they can shoot are pretty stupid. |

Wish they hadn't put all the tweets in the article. Some serious stupidity going on there.

I need more information.
Was Taylor: Drunk? On drugs? Was in a drug / alcohol fueled accident? Was he an actual criminal? Was he fighting with the police officer because he was drunk / on drugs and thought he could get away? Was he fighting with the police officer because he wanted to kill him? |

Quoted: 49 year old rookie cop? View Quote IIRC , in Waco, which should have similar requirements, the max age is one day before 45th birthday on the date the applicant takes the entrance exam. Some depts waiver age based on military service. |

Did he go for one of their guns? That's what happened with the last big sweet/innocent/unarmed-black-youth-shooting.
|
|
"The Star-Telegram reported that court records it reviewed showed Taylor was sentenced to six months of deferred adjudication last December on a drug charge stemming from a September 2013 traffic stop in which police reported Taylor was found with 11 hydrocodone tablets not prescribed to him. The case was dismissed July 14 after Taylor satisfied the requirement of his probation. He graduated from Summit High School in Mansfield, Texas, in 2014."

Montel and Serena went full retard,
It's like the perp magically turned off the road, drove through the dealership parking lot, and accidentally crashed through the dealership window. All at 1AM. |

I live in Arlington, and I take extreme offense to it being called "suburban Dallas." #JusticeForArlington, #SecedeFromDallas It's not even in the same siht hole county, home to a major league baseball team and America's football team. On the other hand, it's starting to look a lot more "dallas". And from the article "They say he's burglarizing the place by running up in there? Nuh-uh. Something doesn't sound right," |

Officers who aren't gung-ho, testosterone-poisoned "respect mah authoritah!" roid-monsters. Oh... and no cargo pockets. Isn't that what GD wants? Older/seasoned/experienced/non-militarized police? |

You wont know that til the autopsy results are released and that'll take time. For instance, the NY prison escapee was killed over a month ago and they just released autposy results that show he was drunk Quoted:

One of our guys retired over 20 years ago, pretty much maxed out on age here He moved south and reportedly is still running around the Carolinas in his late 70s or early 80s employed by some agency down there |

Gotta love the south. Wasn't the reserve cop from the midwest 60 or 70 when he shot someone by mistaking his taser for a gun? |
|
maybe he never learned how to drive properly and thought you park a car inside the building. there is no reason to use deadly force on someone trying to beat your brians in, just take the beating better to suffer brian damage then to take a life of a poor innocent teen that did not learn how to drive, eerrrhh I mena park

Very local to me. He drove his car into the show room of a car dealer, then fought with cops.
Seems like a very reasonable young man, must have been a misunderstanding #criminallivesmatter |

Some colored toddler drove into a car dealership, smashing through the showroom. Said toddler already has a rap sheet for drugs.
But lions and something Trump said and I wanna be a cop since there is not real age limit. |
