Bush bans sex films from Air Force One

George W Bush has ordered that X-rated sex and violence be cut from in-flight movies on Air Force One.

Reporters flying with the US president have noted he has cut any offensive material from the films. They say Bill Clinton always ran the uncut versions of X-rated Hollywood blockbusters during flights.

The change is part of Bush's promise to "restore the honour and dignity to the White House", reports the US News & World Washington Whispers column.

It claims that, during the Clinton years, Air Force One always ran uncensored versions of Hollywood's "filth and violence".

It was the kind of films Clinton and Gore regularly condemned when they were talking up family values, adds the column.

Whispers reports: "Scribes remember awkward moments during the Monica Lewinsky scandal when former President Clinton briefed the press during several steamy scenes."

Last November, an elite Marine guard stationed at Camp David claimed on a Washington radio station that the presidential retreat at Camp David was littered with pornography during the Clintons' tenure.
