I hae a little Navy Arms Rolling Block. I have shot a ton of 38 wadcutters out of it. In 357 I like most of the 158 gr Hollow points and 150-175 Gr hard cast semi wadcutters or WFP even better.

Something pointy around 250g and sub sonic. Through a 12ish inch SBRed Ruger 77 357 that is safe for a 9mm pistol can. Can I have that?

One of the original (1970s ) 1892 Rossi Saddle Ring Carbine. 158 grain HP or soft nose. Light game the 125 grain. Plinking 38 special, any bullet.

Looks like 7.7-7.8gr is my Lil-gun load. Put a few 7.7's through the Osprey and it is stapler quiet and really rocks steel gongs. It seriously wants to shoot bughole groups.

Nice. I have been fighting the urge to SBR a lever action .357 and thread the barrel for a suppressor like that osprey. That may have just pushed me over the edge. |

We should chat... I would like to see a 300grn coated cast done for my project. Edit: My bad, I thought you had made your own casts... This is what 250grn subs look like... Heavier would be better.

I've got a pistol .357 that is pretty dang quiet with subsonics, now I want to try some hot carbine loads.

Not a Mag, but for my 357Max I use a 180gr SSP (not being made at the moment
 ) behind a max charge of H110. Encore carbine. |

Interesting, they told me the following: I know .38 Special subsonics are OK to shoot through the .45 Osprey but are .357 magnum too much to put through it on a 12" fixed barrel?

I used to need tons of speed in .357 carbine loads. I'm still shooting up a mountain of cast .357 loads with a maximum charge of slow burning powder. Thank God I got over that phase.
These days, my goto load for hunting is a +p .38 shot in the same rifle, with a 115 grain SWC or 121gr. LRN going 1,200 fps. Very nice for target practice and small game hunting. This is our last year for hunting with lead, so my new fav. is going to be the cheapest copper monolithic slugs I can locate. |

They have a 140gr HP solid copper round. and FCALI For casual small game hunting, I've acquired a hatful of C.O.P.'s 80 grain copper hollow points. They seem to shoot laser straight in 9mm pistols, .38's and .357 lever actions. For more serious work(deer), I'm considering adopting Barnes' 110 grain copper hp, pushed as fast as it will go in a .357 rifle. The issue with these bullets is they mike .351" or 2 in diameter. When seating these, your resizing die needed to compress the casings several thousandths Xtra. Some reloading dies don't shrink the cases enough to achieve a good grab on the projectile! If this issue comes up for you, it must be handled and dealt with. |
